White Lily is a cosy family home, in a quiet safe area in the town Montagu. It is surrounded by mountains and wild life. You can often hear the babboons in the mountains, bushbuck come close to the house. In the garden there are often a few tortoises as the house is on the edge of the tortoise breeding ground. A stubborn porcupine visits the house at night, keeps on digging under the fence, and causes havoc in the garden. Nobody has seen him yet, but he leaves evidence everywhere. The streets are safe enough to walk, kids to play in and cycle about. It is home away from home.
White lily has been a dream come true for us. I have been in the hospitality industry for many years, and was a tour guide for mostly dutch tours through south africa. After getting married and having kids we settled in this beautifull town, Montagu. It is a tourist attraction and therefor turning White Lily into a guesthouse just seemed like the logical step. We live right opposite White Lily so we are close by if there is any help needed.
White lily lies in a very quiet tranquil neighbourhood, where many hiking trails start from. It is at the edge of the tortoise breeding ground, and there is a little dam behind the house with lots of birds. It is still safe to walk around on the hiking trails and around the neighbourhood. The traffic is also minimal over weekends, so you can enjoy peace and quiet.
