We liked the location. This hotel is located in the middle of the mountains with nice views to the valley with lot of nature around. Breakfast building is very cozy. Facilities in good condition, clean and fully comfortable. Close to Poás volcano, waterfalls and so many other attractions.

It was a beautiful property with many trails to walk on. The birds, in particular, the hummingbirds were incredible. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Mario was a great host and took great care of us.

Poas is very lush (good).

Poas is very lush (good). Went in rainy season and clouds rolled in mid-morning so not able to see the inside of the volcano from the edge of the crater when we got up there. Tip: Do the hike early morning (every early morning we were there sky was clear, and every afternoon we were there thunderstorms developed)

This is a spectacular place to visit with a few provisos and tips. Get early AM tickets as the weather can sock in quickly and dramatically limit visibility. The only way to get entry is via online ticketing. You cannot get in by simply showing up at the gate. I don't think there is any public transit access. You should drive there yourself or arrange taxi/shuttle transport. After visiting the active crater, take the hike to Laguna Botos. When the weather cooperates, the colours are unbelievable! Also, the gift shop has pretty decent items at reasonable prices (for CR tourist zones). Support the national park system!
