United KingdomThe apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We had two ensuite bedrooms. The owner was lovely and very welcoming. We had a parking space right outside our apartment. We were given complimentary tickets to visit the cliffs which were in walking distance and absolutely worth the visit. I would definitely stay here again.

Book far ahead - six months! - and be mentally prepared in case the weather doesn't cooperate. If conditions aren't safe for a landing you will likely still be able to take a boat just offshore and enjoy this amazing place. But if you do get to land like we did, wear appropriate footwear and take along rangear, water and snacks. If you are shy of unprotected heights or don't like walking up and down over 600 rock steps, this isn't the place for you to hike. But if you're OK with that you'll have an experience of a lifetime.

Location was perfect for our needs as we were visiting the Skellig Michael on an early morning boat and the accommodation is close to Portmagee pier. Essentials (milk, coffee, tea, bread & biscuits) were provided. Free pass to view the nearby Kerry Cliffs. Pet donkeys in the adjoining field!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay on Valentia island! Portmagee was just a short distance away, so access to the Kerry cliffs and Skellig Michael tours would be so easy! Monica was an excellent host and made sure we had everything we could need for a very comfortable stay!

The apartment was convenient with less than a 5 minute drive to the downtown Portmagee, and we were still able to wake up in the stunning countryside of Southwest Ireland. The review would be incomplete without mentioning the amazing hospitality of the property manager Marie. She was flexible and responsive to our very delayed check-in and was considerate for our entire stay. I highly recommend this location for anyone looking enjoy the Skellig Michael experience and people looking to enjoy local beaches and chocolate factory.

This was a quaint hotel in Portmagee that we choose because we were planning on doing the Skellig Michael tour (got cancelled due to high seas) and the boat leaves from across the street from the hotel. The room included a sitting area, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was included and was hearty. Very enjoyable.

Wow! Absolutely stunning view of the bay right from the bedroom window. Enjoyed watching the sunset from bed both nights!
The hosts were incredible and made an absolutely wonderful breakfast. The beautiful view from the breakfast nook made breakfast even better! The host also prepared us a nice sack lunch (for a small fee).
The house is only a few minutes from Portmagee (Skellig Michael tour) and several fantastic seafood places. Can't recommend enough!
