Lodges in Hakuba

We have everything we need in the room. Staff super friendly. Breakfast is yummy and they drive us everyday to gondola .

Such a beautiful property and rooms, staff were lovely, the owner even picked us up from the train stop and dropped us off to our next hotel! Super close to the ski lift as well. Everything perfect!

Close to the main road, amazingly friendly staffs, good size room with bath. Fridge, washing machine, ensuite bath, big kitchen space were available. We had 4 single beds in our room and was big enough for all 4 of us. The bed was comfortable too. The onsen in the shared area was also nice. You had to make reservations in advance to secure a 45min slot. One was only inside but the other had both inside and outside baths.

The breakfast and optional dinner was fantastic!

It’s homey, cozy, welcoming feeling and especially the friendly, professional staff! Sako was so helpful and went above and beyond to accommodate our family, The chef was amazing, preparing a new breakfast every morning and a fabulous Christmas dinner!

The place is cozy and clean, has private Osen which is rare. The checkin was simple and flexible.

The owner was incredible- she was so helpful, kind, and caring. She helped us with calling taxis, shipping our skis, and even helped us with drying our wet ski gear. We were all sad to leave and say goodbye!

Very well located cabin close to the main Happo One gondola and situated in a peaceful area amongst trees. Toshi the host was exceptional and was very accommodating. He picked us up from the train station and continued to offer lifts throughout our stay. I would definitely return here, thanks for a great stay!

We stayed one week here and we had an amazing time. Incredible experience from start to finish. Dan and his family picked us up from the bus station and dropped us off at the train station, offered all residents a ride to the slopes in the morning, cooked a nice breakfast and was always on hand to provide information. One day we even went together to the slopes and showed us hidden off-piste trails. They also organized activities for guests like Takahashi Tuesdays (group ramen night) and a nice lodge dinner gathering. Great little living room with a much needed massage chair and video games and a dry room to store all your stuff if need be. We’ll be back here as often as we can!

Super nice couple runs the place. They are very helpful. The homemade bread and muffins for breakfast are exceptionally tasty

Warm & welcoming with amazing staff & great location.

The location was awesome, quiet and tucked away but 30 seconds to Main Street echoland. The downstairs common area was soothing and relaxing, warm and inviting. I can’t say enough about Matsua and his hospitality and willingness to help. I HIGHLY suggest Pension Marrionette for several reasons. I’m solo but had two beds and upstairs loft that was either for morning relaxing yoga or to house another two individuals. I hope I return and can enjoy the Marionette again soon.

Awesome interior for the family. My daughter really loved the log cabin design and staircase to the top beds. The location is very convenient and close to the supermarket, shops, and Echoland.

The lodge was beautiful, the rooms were big, and the beds and beddings were very comfortable. We had the best sleep in there that we would sleep in! The kids (17 and 5) especially loved the loft feature and the communal living space. The drying room was amazing and absolutely essential during our snowy weekend. They have great partnerships with ski rental places that we only needed to leave our gear at their place and not have to return them to the rental stores. Super convenient. The huge private bathroom was detached, but it was just a few steps across the hall so it was not a problem for us at all. Breakfast was also amazing and well thought out. But Greg and Karen were the best part of the trip for us. They were very warm, kind, and extremely helpful making sure we made the most out of our short stay at Hakuba. We're beginner skiers, so we knew nothing about gear and getting lessons in Hakuba. So they booked everything for us, including rental, transfer, ski school, taxis, and even dinner reservations. We were absolutely spoiled. Best of all, we had the most lovely conversations with them by the fire place, and my children are especially fond of them. Our stay was way too short and we cannot wait to be back next winter.

We loved our stay here! The staff was AMAZING - so kind and helpful with all of our questions. The entire lodge was incredibly clean, and even though showers were shared, I never had to wait or saw another person waiting. Great size lodge to get to know other guests in the communal room at breakfast or in the evenings if you want to socialize a bit- everyone felt like new friends by the end. The bedrooms were basic but so clean, extremely comfortable beds, warm, and large. Walking distance to bus stops and plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops. Extremely happy with our stay here!

I was blown away by the courteousness of the staff and accommodations in the lodge. The common area and bar was comfortable, pleasing and warm with some of the kindest hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. They went out of their way to get to know us and spend time together, provide us with rides to ski rental shops and bus stops, and recommend incredible restaurants/ski resorts.

The location is very close and walkable to Echoland. The owner Jun san is the best! I left my snowboard boots behind in the drying room and he quickly shipped them to my next location in time for an instructor exam. He also helped me everyday with tips/directions/etc and drove me to get my rental car in Goryu. He's a wonderful and kind person and always with a welcoming smile! My Italian/ Japanese dinner there was great as well. Look forward to returning next year.
