We have only one night stay in Mercure Takayama. It was a wonderful stay. The location is excellent. Room and bed all comfortable.

Location was a short 5 min walk from the station. We booked this very far in advance and got a great deal (I think before the hotel opened) however it is definitely on the high-end of Mercure Hotels, which was fabulous.
Booked a private onsen on the rooftop, which was a really memorable and afforable experience.
They provided really nice umbrellas for the rain.

Mercure Takayama is closed to the train station, just a 5 minutes walk. You can walk to the main tourist destinations.
The hotel is new, nice and comfortable. The Onsen is great. Definitively a go to in Takayama.
