Great location in Appenzell. Short walk to shops and train station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We used the sauna after a day of hiking in the rain. Just what we needed! They stored our luggage overnight while we hiked to Aescher to stay one night.

The view! The room was super comfortable and nice. The balcony looks right on the mountain.

Wow, what an awesome time. We got a message a few days before, from the Alte Metzg staff, offering a free upgrade to the Boutique Pension — so this review is for that — but that was so random and wonderful. The space we clean, cute, spacious — amazing coffee, tons of ability to cook, close to bakeries and town. Not much to do in the town, but this space was great.

I came with my family and we had a great stay at BnB Claudia. We came in summer, and at night it was a little hot. The house is very close to the train station and the old town, with a beautiful view from our bedroom. The breakfast was really good with cheese, jam, bread, butter, and coffee, and eggs. Claudia is a great host.

The location was pretty good. It is near stores such as coop, migros and near the center and walking distance to the train station. Best part was the appenzeller card for 3 nights or more. It covers everything that we want to do in appenzell including the gondolas. It also covers to and from appenzel from anywhere in swiss. Just mention it days before so host can process it. The place was private and bathroom was private but is outside the hall which is fine. TV is smart tv which is a plus and wifi was super fast. Host is very responsive and helpful and let us leave our bags earlier! Pretty nice place to stay in appenzell. One of the cheapest ones in town. Hope we can come back!

This house was cozy and old fashioned and homey. Everything we needed to make a meal and stay in was available. The host greeted us and was so welcoming. The view of the mountains around, covered in snow, was beautiful. They even put around a few decorations, as it was Christmas! We walked from the train station, and even in the dark in the cold, it was about about 10 minutes.

Bruno, our host, was warm and welcoming. He provided sample items of produce from Appenzell for us. This was a delightful surprise. There was great on-site parking. The accommodation was within walking distance of the village centre, local sites, shopping and eateries. The location provided us with a fantastic base to explore further afield. While staying in Appenzell we did day trips to Ebenalp, St Gallen and Stein am Rhine. All were very manageable. The property had a lovely outdoor area with hammocks and a covered BBQ area available to guests. The self-contained apartment was well set up for a very comfortable stay. There was a coffee pod machine with pods supplied and all cooking accessories needed to eat in, if you wished to.

It’s a nice cozy studio on the ground floor. The host lives in the same house, but the entrance is individual. There’s everything you need to cook. The area for cooking is quite small :) beds are comfortable. It’s very dark and quiet at night, nothing disturbs your sleeping. The house is about 15 min walk from the station, a little uphill. I guess there is a taxi, but we never used it. Also we got the Appenzell tourist card which is a real deal! Free transport in the region and 2 rides on funiculars + other perks like museums, pool, tennis, yoga etc. You can check the brochure.

The room was spotless. It was easy to get in with the self-checkin which was important for me since I arrived with the last train. The room had everything I needed, and the bed was perfect. Good pillows, good mattress, just excellent.

Excellent Location & staff. Provided excellent weather dependent advice on things to do. Fantastic authentic Swiss breakfast selections in bite sizes & a good variety to tease your palate. Will definitely come back for longer stays.

Amazing accommodation, new and modern, sparkling clean. Breakfast was with fresh local home made jam, home made yogurt, cheese, drinks. Lucas, the owner, is the great host - made us feel relaxed, helped with all questions and local recommendations. The best place to stay away on vacation!
