Quiet, cabins surrounded by nature

This place is paradise. We saw more animals here than anywhere else so far in Costa Rica. Even though it is just off the main highway, it is the jungle. The property is large, and full of trees. A troupe of monkeys comes to visit almost everyday. There are agouti, coati, iguana, toucans, hummingbirds, and at night, not far away, coyotes. There is an absolute symphony of nature sounds. The owner, Bettina, and her daughters, are lovely. The breakfast is great - fresh fruit, fresh buns, eggs, cereal, coffee. It kept us going all day. The hotel is ideally situated for visiting the Nauyaca Waterfalls, Marino Ballena National Park and the Uvita beach, Hacienda Baru nature trails, the Alturas Wildlife Sancturary, and more. There is a lovely swimming pool. We would do an excursion in the morning, and hang out by the pool in the afternoon. We were here for six nights, and had a fantastic time. Would definitely visit again.

Spacious and very clean. Located at the very centre of Dominical. Easy access to everything. Big supermarket 6 min away walking. Beach was walking distance as well.

The view from Cabin 1 was incredible! Passing storms over the ocean from the cover of the balcony were dreamy. The restaurant staff very friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. We ate dinner there all 3 nights. There are paths on the property leading to the point (lower) and one going up the hill to a viewpoint over the bay and beautiful for sunrise. A covered platform great for some zen or morning yoga and some cheeky monkeys getting their morning breakfast. Check out dominicalito beach close by for affordable surf board rentals and a chill less intimidating beach break for learning

Very cute, and well equipped. Most comfortable bed in costa rica

The property, all the villas at Shelter from the Storm, are spectacular. Villa Solensse in particular has incredible coastal views and rainforest vistas from its deck and both its bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and though a guest should be equipped and prepared and able to do some stairs to reach the villa, the views make it well worth the effort. Beyond the villa itself, the larger property, which includes a beautiful pool again with coastal views, a Japanese garden, a mirador where you can watch the sun rise and set, and a waterfall, is unparalleled. The gardens are filled with flowers and foliage that then appear on impossibly beautiful breakfast arrangements. The breakfasts cooked by Virginie, are superb and unforgettable. Both Virginie and Pascal are excellent hosts, we hope to return again one day.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The view was truly breathtaking — beautiful greenery with an incredible ocean view. This was by far the best apartment of our entire Costa Rica trip: spotless, beautifully designed, and featuring a wonderful terrace to fully enjoy the surroundings. The pool area was also spectacular and perfect for relaxing. One of the highlights is a separate terrace where you can watch the sunset — simply unforgettable. We were even lucky enough to see monkeys! Make sure to plan enough time, as there is so much to explore in the area. Stunning beaches are very close by, national parks are easy to visit, and you are truly surrounded by jungle. This is exactly how we imagined Costa Rica. We would absolutely stay here again!

Everything was above expectations! This place is magical. Views are stunning and the Interior design compliment the whole environment. Don’t hesitate to book! You won’t regret it. We were sad to leave. Our hosts were very attentive to all the details and definitely made our stay a bliss! We have two kids, they enjoyed as much as we do. Our son of 9 yo told us that he will keep that beautiful place as an inspiration for his Minecraft project ;-) On a side note they can provide a breakfast. A delicious breakfast that could compete with a luxurious hotel, Variety, Taste and Quality.

Exceptional in every way. The most spectacular ocean views, gorgeous landscaping, beautiful gardens including a zen garden with a koi pond, everywhere you turn there is a beautiful spot to sit and admire the view. Very tasteful and beautiful Bali style decor with much attention to detail and colorful fresh flowers all around. Approximately 200 steps through the jungle take you to the river and one of the most beautiful waterfalls. Great swimming pool and hot tub. Very nice french hosts. The most delicious buffet breakfast with an array of delicious desserts: crepes with homemade chocolate sauce, french blueberry pastry, crème brulee and chocolate mousse! Definitely our best weekend escape ever! Hope to return soon.

Everything was absolutely perfect! I would 100% recommend this place. Can’t wait to go back again.

Very idyllic stay at Cascada Elysiana, only wish it was longer! Loved the single room cabin with the outdoor shower. Everything felt very secluded, private, natural and clean. Interesting cabin architecture, and loved all of the light streaming in the windows each morning. Excellent breakfast overlooking gardens and hummingbirds. The staff made it feel very communal, and they did a great job of making sure we were well looked after. I would definitely consider returning even as a solo traveler for some quiet, peace, creative and meditation time.

This place was situated in the most beautiful location. We saw so much wildlife: tayra's, kinkajous, monkeys, hummingbirds, in just the two days we stayed. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming. They totally gave us our space but were accessible when we wanted them. We wish we had stayed longer! We'll definitely be back.
