The room was very large and had separate toilet from shower which is convenient. While not advertised we decided to look what was available for breakfast and found out that it was included. Also when we checked in, we were offered 2 drinks that could be used at the bar across the parking lot.

Excellent stay. The restaurant was brilliant for dinner and breakfast, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. It was raining on our visit so we didn't to see as much of the camp as we would have liked. The tents are very comfortable.

A magical farm stay experience (with a slightly bumpy start) We arrived at The Woods Farm around 6:30 pm, and to be honest, it was a little unsettling at first — the entire property was pitch dark, and we couldn’t find a single staff member around. After calling via WhatsApp, we found out that we needed to locate our cottage ourselves, which was quite tricky in the dark and a bit worrying. But as it turns out, this is just how things work here. Our mood shifted completely once we found our cottage — and wow, it was stunning. Beautifully built with high-quality materials, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything we needed: 3 comfy bedrooms, a lovely living room, and a full kitchen. The next morning, we understood why this place gets so much praise. We were greeted by wild kangaroos hopping across the massive backyard, and the kids were absolutely thrilled. Then came the real highlight — feeding time at the farm! We got to meet and feed alpacas, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, ponies, and even wild parrots who pecked sunflower seeds straight from our hands. Our 3- and 8-year-olds were in absolute heaven — it was truly something special. There’s also a huge playground right next to the pool, which was perfect for the kids to burn off more energy. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. Our kids are still talking about it long after we’ve moved on to our next destination. If we weren’t already committed to a tight travel plan, we definitely would have stayed longer. Highly recommend for families looking for a unique and unforgettable farm stay!

A quiet and picturesque town by the sea.

A quiet and picturesque town by the sea. Possibly a well kept secret from us northerners (Queensland) but I imagine it would be very busy in the warmer and holiday months - possibly overcrowded even. There's plenty of things to do nearby: museums, boat excursions, walking trails and beaches etc. But one could just as easily lounge around on the beach, go fishing or just catch up on sleep and enjoy being away from it all. And Husky does feel away from it all, but everything you could need is either in the town itself, or just a short drive away in Vincentia. And there's no shortage of eating options - from authentic Italian or takeaway fish & chips, you'll be spoiled for choice. I found myself rather partial to the main hotel, which easily surpasses the Australian pub standard for food and drinks. Two nights was all our schedule permitted to stay this time around, but plans are certainly afoot to return for a longer stay.

Jervis Bay is one of the prettiest places I have stayed in Australia. Lots to do and great facilities. It is like a Noosa on the NSW south coast. Great local businesses and restaurants. The national park Booderee is amazing.

Quiet retirement and holiday village.

Quiet retirement and holiday village. Very pretty place, especially for people who enjoy boating and fishing. Not much to do in winter, which is when we visited, but we went with the explicit goal of slowing down and doing very little.

For someone visiting Sanctuary Point for the very first time...

For someone visiting Sanctuary Point for the very first time — especially coming from Canberra — this place feels like a quiet blessing. Let that sink in: first time here, stepping away from a structured, busy city into somewhere slower, softer, and more peaceful. Sanctuary Point offers a different rhythm of life — remote, calm, with very little noise. It’s quiet in a way that feels intentional, not empty. The surroundings are simple but genuinely beautiful. Comparing the two, Canberra is organised, efficient, and driven — a place for productivity. Sanctuary Point, on the other hand, is where you pause, breathe, and reset. Both have their strengths, but if Canberra is where you move forward, Sanctuary Point is where you reconnect.

Beach was fabulous.

Beach was fabulous. Club which is fine was within walking distance but a car is certainly required to get anywhere. The club at culburra was really nice and a 15 min drive away. Huskinson bay around a 20 min drive is really fabulous place to visit. As we were seeing family the location suited us fine.

Idyllic, unspoilt, quiet location.

Idyllic, unspoilt, quiet location. Great launching pad for Callala Beach, Currarong (great fish and chips), spectacular Point Perpendicular. Also, a shortish drive south, via the highway, to the delights of Huskisson, Vincentia and Hyams Beach on JERVIS BAY. North to Culburra Beach for great surfing OCEAN beaches, or a little further to Greenwell Point on the SHOALHAVEN RIVER for a really great seafood cafe (book a table or takeaway available); or a famous oyster farmgate.

I love coming down to St Georges Basin!

I love coming down to St Georges Basin! It's so peaceful and quiet with plenty of wildlife. You wake up to Kangaroos, see ducks, pelicans and swans on the water. We even saw bandicoots up close at night! The locals are friendly and wave hello as they pass on their daily walks, some are even up for a chat!

A friendly village atmosphere.

A friendly village atmosphere. The main street is attractive and lit with festoon lights at night. All the shop keepers were friendly and helpful. There is a good selection of restaurants, and we were there for a birthday celebration at Peter Eva Italian - wonderful. The Collective had beautifully handmade local products. The natural beauty is wonderful with beautiful walks and cycle tracks.
