"Cairns is a beautiful city with friendly locals. My wife and I left very comfortable during our stay. The city has a vibrant lifestyle with gorgeous beaches close by and some beautiful food outlets within a short walking distance. Dundee on the Waterfront is highly recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Cairns."

"There is so much to do in and around Cairns. We opted for guided tours, which were a terrific way to see some of the area. We pre-booked (online) and did Kuranda by Skyrail and train, Cape Tribulation & Atherton Tablelands through Cairns Adventure Group, and the outer reef through Sunlover Reef Cruises. These were incredible tours and highly recommend all. Our tour operators also picked us up from our accomodation (The Green Place at Lakes Resort - incredible!!). A truly magical experience and one we’ll remember for years to come. The night markets had a great vibe, Rusty’s markets on Sunday were also terrific. So much to see and do, a week was the perfect break for our family of 4 - the kids can’t wait to go back. We chose to use Ubers rather than hire a car and this was much more convenient (and kinder on the wallet) for the week we spent ~$145AUD, and our accomodation was a 10 minute ride into town."

The property was lovely and we had everything we needed to feel at home all while enjoying a great adventure."

Truly a 10/10 resort experience. The resort itself is magnificent from the showers, to the private pool, to the indoor/outdoor fountains and flowers around your villa. The beds in the villas were extremely comfortable, the closets and amenities were very large, and the showers were extremely comfortable. We spent the majority of our time in the Villa just because of how magnificent it was. I would recommend anyone staying in Port Douglas to stay here, its the nicest resort I stayed in in my life and I was able to stay for $100 USD per night split across 5 people.

Honestly, for us this was a gem to discover. We'd never stayed in this kind of accomodation but the photos looked amazing and truthfully, you expect a certain amount of "creativity" with the photos but when we arrived.....we were totally blown away. Spotless unit, amazing view and such lovely hosts. Our next stay, we will try the waterfrontage units but that is just a personal preference. The garden units also had a great view and even the campsites were well appointed and perfectly equipped. Seriously - dont overlook this fabulous piece of tropical paradise!

Such wonderful vibes.

Such wonderful vibes. Warm and welcoming locals and friendly staff everywhere we go. There's plenty of activities available. We never hire a car as we always stay at accommodations that are located on Macrossan Street, or nearby, and it's not far to walk to the Marina or 4 Mile Beach. Port Douglas prides itself on beautifully maintained and landscaped streets and gardens. We always enjoy our stays at Port Douglas, and always look forward to returning there!!! Highly recommended. So many great restaurants and bars to choose from. Highly recommend Star of Siam Thai restaurant, consistently great food. And Wicked Ice Cream in Macrossan street is definitely the best Ice Cream I've ever tasted!!!

Beautiful 2 mile stretch of beach with palm trees providing shade! The water is calmer and perfect for families! The sand is smooth and soft and you could spend the entire day there with no worries. Lifeguards are on duty and provide guidelines for swimming. There are restaurants lining the esplanade.

We had a great feed at the Mission Beach Tavern and the local fish and chippery. Mission Beach Lodge is an easy walk from the town centre and beach. I recommend a vehicle for getting around to the many walks and attractions. Charley's Chocolate factory is still on our list to visit as I have heard the chocolate is exceptional. Day trips or camping to Dunk Island, just offshore, are also now available.

My wife and I holidayed for a week in Trinity Beach in July.

My wife and I holidayed for a week in Trinity Beach in July. It was our third stay at Trinity Beach, but first time in this apartment complex. We booked an oceanfront deluxe 2 bedroom apartment and were signed apt 56 in the Blue Marlin apartment building, which is one of the many apartment blocks managed by On The Beach Apartments. We checked in on a Sunday afternoon, which consisted of the self check in process which was easy. The apartment was situated on the top floor of a four level building. The Blue Marlin apartment block does not have a lift. So if you cannot handle stairs, I would advise not booking this category apartment. It is directly opposite a patrolled area of the beach, and less than 400 metres from restaurants, shops and cafes. There is a lovely Italian restaurant/cafe/bar situated 100 metres in the other direction. It had secure parking at the rear and is very secure all up. The property cannot be accessed without a key or garage fob and the building cannot be accessed without a key also. The apartment was spacious, reasonably clean and inviting. Everything was provided…..but it is showing signs of wear and tear. Only one set of keys were provided, which meant we had to leave and arrive together as the key was needed to enter and exit the property. However, we obtained a second set of keys a couple of days in, which things a lot easier. There were no beach towels in unit. We had to go to reception to request them. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

The deck was my favourite spot, although even lazing in bed I had a great view of the Daintree and surrounding mountains. We chose to eat at the hotel where the meals are excellent, although a tad too big:). Take a vehicle as you'll want to cross the Daintree and enjoy the drive up to Cape Tribulation with some gorgeous walks along the way. We cruised with Solar Whisper to view crocodiles and other wildlife in their natural habitat and saw many memorable sights.

Atherton is a great central location to base yourself for exploring most of the surrounding districts on the Tableland, without the inconvenience of moving from place to place every few days. It has good sized supermarkets, Woolworths and IGA, a few cafes and takeaways including MacDonalds, KFC and Subway. Many cafes on the tableland close by 2pm and aren't open every day. Having accommodation with kitchen facilities and access to good supermarkets is advantageous. The cheapest location for diesel fuel is Malanda.

Great island to visit and stay a few nights. 3 nights is more than enough though. Amazing snorkelling right off the beach which I can’t recommend enough. Saw a turtle every time I went in the water, plus reef sharks, humphead wrasse, stingrays, hundreds of species of fish and coral. It is awesome inspiring. Go snorkeling at low tide for an extra special experience as everything is about 1 meter below the surface at that time and so close and special!
