"Charming lake-side town with great weather, restaurants and pastelerias. Scenery is wonderful with great places to see nature not far away. Enjoy a stroll along the lake and beaches. Highly recommend the restaurant De Barrio. Huge portions at very reasonable prices, friendly service in a cozy laid back environment. Food at Inca Pecador was very good although service was slow probably due to the New Years holiday. Try rafting with Terra Sur based in Ensenada. They also have a sales booth at Petrohue falls. You are on the water for only about an hour, which is not very long. But you are on class 3 rapids most of the time (unlike rafting we have done in the US where you spend lots of time just drifting)."

An excellent small boutique hotel out of the city. Maria and Alexia did their outmost to accommodate all our needs and made us feel like at home. The kitchen was so good that we did not bother to go anywhere else for dinner. Totally recommend the hot tubs, a relaxation with a view!

Everything was to our liking - great location near the centre and with wonderful views to the Osorno volcano. The room was spacious and the breakfast was excellent. The breakfast was the best on our Chile trip. The staff were super helpful. We had to cut short our stay due to a family illness and the hotel kindly refunded the unused night despite us not asking for.

The large dome we stayed in accommodated 4 adults and 2 children comfortably. Great location for exploring the area without staying in any of the larger towns along the lake when we wanted a quiet experience. It was a short drive to a number of very good restaurants. The wood fired hot tubs were great and the young man who maintained them a hard worker!

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Cozy and clean, very friendly staff and facilities. The housekeeping was amazing, the restaurant was quite nice and the kids loved the swimming pool, perfect for little ones just learning to swim.

This was our third trip to Puerto Varas.

This was our third trip to Puerto Varas. It's a clean, interesting city with lots of vibrant energy. Close by you'll find fabulous waterfalls and Frutillar, a city less than an hour away that has an amazing theater for professional music entertainment, plenty of restaurants, and a perfect view of Mount Osorno, a gorgeous, snow-covered volcano that sits just across Lago Llanquihue, the second largest lake in Chile. We've been visiting this area for the past 6 years.

This is a small town with a character of its own, in between...

This is a small town with a character of its own, in between volcanoes with an amazing landscape, huge beach with great view of Osorno Volcano, its the beggining of the biggest and oldest National Park in Chile "Parque Nacional Vicente Perez Rosales". I f you want adventure there is a big variety of options for you to pick, from Rafting the Petrohue River ( best companies are Ko Kayak, Nomada, River Friends), hijing up the Volcano with Terrasur Adventure, discovering the park trails, visiting Cascadas town, or adventuring further till the begining of the fiord to Ralun town. If you are keen to discover you will find so much.

Puerto Varas was a great surprise!

Puerto Varas was a great surprise! I wish we could have stayed more! It's beautiful, full of nature to be explored, calm but with great restaurants and small shops. The view of the city is amazing, no matter where you look. Certainly coming back next summer (just reminding summer in Southern Chile is not warm, so be prepared for a cool and comfortable weather).
