Honestly the most wonderful family and accommodation. We felt really looked after and safe. Set in a beautiful spice plantation which the owner Gede showed us around. Gede is the happiest person on Earth and made sure we had everything we needed. He sorted out all our excursions and put us in touch with his friend Yeni in Padangbai who sorted out all our ferry transportation and drivers over to Gili Trawagnan. She was actually a life saver as one day all fast boats to the Gilis were cancelled but with her inside info she managed to get us onto a freight ferry so we could continue our holiday. Gede, his wife, sister and cousin were all super kind to us and when my daughter was not well they made her lemongrass tea and kept checking in on her. The rooms are so clean and the food good too. We ate there every evening (3 nights) and enjoyed bintang with a view! Exceptional hosts 🥰

Cannot recommend this accommodation enough! The room was nicely designed, spacious and clean, comfortable bed. The bathroom was classic balinese style with beautiful plants. Pool was enjoyable. But the thing that put it over the top were the staff. Putu, Kadek, and Dimas went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The owner is lucky to have them and we left having made 3 new friends. We would be happy to come back again!

Munduk has a lot to see and enjoy.

Munduk has a lot to see and enjoy. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and wish I had been there longer. The mountains are really beautiful and it isn’t crowded or touristy like other places. I really, really loved the mountains and found it easy to navigate on a scooter. People are all really friendly too.

I have been going there once or twice a year for 13 years.

I have been going there once or twice a year for 13 years. The locals are so friendly and honest and many are now family to me. The beach is so lovely with all the local dolphin tour boats moored there. A great place to visit for nightlife is Poco Lounge Bar especially on a Thursday or Saturday night with the great bands. It is very well run by a lovely owner and there is never any trouble. Once you've been to Lovina and experienced the real Bali you won't stay in the south of Bali again.

I love this place, the people are just beautiful. We came to freedive and had the best time here. Very cheap accommodation and the food was lovely and very cheap. Would highly recommend coming here and having a very relaxing holiday.

You do need to appreciate this area is a long way from...

You do need to appreciate this area is a long way from Denpasar and has limited facilities, particularly medical. It is GREAT if you are into diving / snorkelling or birdwatching / photography. Also, my wife likes horse riding and we found some excellent stables near Permuteran for that. I enjoy using a scooter to explore nature and the salt pans were very interesting for birds. Eating out - there are some Warungs but we stayed in the resort. Whilst you can hire a scooter, your only other option is taxi and the resort can help you there.

Located outside of Singaraja by about 10kms is "OMunity Bali...

Located outside of Singaraja by about 10kms is "OMunity Bali". It is situated in the traditional highland village of Sudaji.. To get to this location you need to make your own transport arrangements to go there and especially leaving is harder as the local Grab App doesn't seem to reach to here. OMunity prepared food is delicious and creative but eating out elsewhere didn't have much choice esp if vegetarian. The ambience is relaxing, friendly and uncrowded. Walking around the neighborhood is pleasant, and there are short road trips with walks or treks to some of the most stunning scenic places in Bali.

I just needed a rest and tranquility. The place is quite amazing, only 4 rooms and it is such a difference with those resorts where you meet hundreds of noisy people. Rent a scooter or take a driver, there are quite a few nice things to see but perhaps, if you take a scooter, you are more free to go around as you deem.

It is great to stay in the north of Bali! Getting around takes time and requires a private driver. Management & Staff was just Wonderful and made all our wishes come true. Very responsive via What's app - all day long. Great location on the mountain, fantastic view. Private infinity pool! The place to feel into the magic of Bali!

Munduk is a beautiful place really.

Munduk is a beautiful place really. But it is kind of remote so be prepared for not having any sort of public transportation or other types of amenities you might be expecting anywhere else in Bali that is more touristic. The landscape is very beautiful and it's a place full of genuine Balinese culture. Be prepared for riding your own motorbike though, because Munduk sits halfway to the top of a very high mountain, and so any place of interest other than the famous waterfalls are very far away and inaccessible by foot. There are no taxis so you are completely dependent on either your own driving or some nice locals that might take pity on you and give you a ride on their motorbike for a (small) fee (usually 50k IDR). Be prepared and come with plenty of cash because there are no easily accessible ATMs and nobody takes cards.

Lovina is fairly quiet and best seen from a boat to get a full appreciation of the coastline and the beautiful hills in the background. I stayed at the Kelapa Lovina Beach Villas. Great, relaxing place right on the waterfront. The staff are fantastic!! Highly recommend it, if you are looking for some chill-out time.
