Large, clean, comfy room overlooking the green courtyard. Extremely helpful and friendly, knowledgeable staff who arranged motor scooter hire, a snorkeling trip, and a tut tut back into Trincomalee bus station on our final day. All the food was delicious, choice of Sri Lankan or western breakfast, and we were able to buy beer at the restaurant. A short walk from the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and whole heartedly recommend this accommodation - it’s good value for money for the size of room. A tut tut into the city costs SLR $1500-2000

The rooms were clean and big. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Everyday they worked hard to make sure our stay was fantastic. You aren’t going to find a better location as this is right in the middle of lots of restaurants with beach access right across the street. Would stay here again with no hesitation. A/C, WiFi, friendly staff, comfortable beds, great location. Loved it!

Very friend staff. Great location if you are wanting something more quiet. We pretty much had the entire beach to ourself every time we walked down. I like how they bring the food over to your room and eat outside your room. Makes it feel like you are eating at home.

Despite the non stopping rain for days and days, our stay in Amanta Beach was just perfect. Everything is as shown on the photos and written in the description and actually there is much more. Slightly out of the village, just right on the private beach, with a huge garden and a cute swimming pool, you will be offered very tasty breakfasts and dinners.. The rooms and the private gardens have everything you may need. And those stylish decorations! I need to mention also the very lovely staff who make you feel very welcome and still manage to give you the privacy you want in such a place. It is not the cheapest, but absolutely worth the value.

The staff were helpful with informations.They sent us details about hotel, restaurant,beach before their staying in the resort. The resort had great vibe. Accommodation was clean and the service of customers was on high level. Food in restaurant was delicious. Owner and managers took great care of our parents. Krishna was the best host ever! Made sure everything was excellent, he is a great cook and even packed us a lunch when we left! Booked for 3 days and stayed a week. Laundry and wifi were necessary and he had those also.

We had heard wonderful things of Trincomalee, but it didn't...

We had heard wonderful things of Trincomalee, but it didn't live up to expectations. We took a tour of Trincomalee and visited the fort and a couple of temples which were interesting but otherwise Trincomalee was much like any other non-descript Sri Lankan city. Admittingly, it does have some nice beaches and water views, but the rubbish around the beaches was a put off for us.

Relaxed beach holiday destination away from the big crowds especially if you stay around Nilaveli rather than Uppaveli Great location to learn diving and snorkelling - reasonably priced and wonderful sea conditions from May/June to early October. Locals were incredibly welcoming Plenty of food options which are very reasonably priced. If you’re prepared to go off the beaten track a Sri Lankan curry meal for family of 4 will cost no more than RP3,000. In a hotel, similar will cost RP10,000. Would highly recommend if looking for somewhere where the beaches are peaceful, people are relaxed and looking to unwind!

Trincomalee has recovered from the years of domestic strife. there was a very upbeat air about the place. Everywhere we went, people generally looked happy, smiled or waved. Our hotel was on Uppuveli beach which is beautiful. We then had to return to Colombo Airport, which we were easily, and reasonably able to do on the Visit Lanka website. More locally there are masses of tuktuks. We found the Pick Me app very useful, which is a Sri Lankan equivalent of Uber

The beach was nice.

The beach was nice. The staff was friendly and tried to go out of their way to help. There were somethings lacking in the room in order to make our stay more comfortable. There was no phone in case you needed to reach the front desk or staff. You had to go out to the front desk or look outside for staff if you needed anything. There is no TV in the room. There was a lot left to desire in the a la cart menu.

This location was absolutely beautiful.

This location was absolutely beautiful. There's lots to see and do and 3 nights wasn't enough to fully enjoy the setting. Yes you can spend time at the beach and go snorkeling, but you can also visit the Thiruskoneswaram temple and eat delicious food on Sarvodaya Road. We highly recommend Rice 'n' Curry Restaurant. As well as The White House for Accommodation and Rangan Snorkeling

Laid back, friendly, not overly developed. Lovely people. Nice beach. Fishermen working, little farms growing lovely veggies, great scenery, bar the plastic. Several little restaurants locally serving fresh seafood in a variety of ways. Nice music. I did have an audience of local chaps when I was flailing about in the sea, so I came back in! On the whole as a solo traveller I felt safe. Had a really good Ayervedic massage locally as well. Went on a boat ride amongst the mangroves, then had a cup of tea at the boat guys daughter's house which was lovely. Great place to relax and do beach stuff.
