"Chiang Mai is a great place to visit particularly during Sangkran event. We walked along Tha Phae Gate where most activities had occurred. Thai people were having a lot of fun shooting water among them and with tourist. Overall, we had very good experience, including sightseeing wonderful views of mountains, gardens with their flowers, temples, river, and canals. For example, an experience with an elephant along a river have touched me deeply inside. This will remain for ever in my memory. I recommend to explore Chiang Mai as much as you can and to see any obstacle as a joyfully experience."

"Chiang Rai is a beautiful city with many spots to travel in the city and outside of it. The White & Blue temple are most seen! we also go to see the Choui Fong tea plantation - it's incredible and really nice place to drink tea and enjoy the view. we ate dinner twice at the small and amazing Night Market, cheap and tasty food over there - if you there you must try it at least once. it is really east to get around with Grab application. it is very cheap and easy to order taxi. I wish I had more time in this city, love the atmosphere there!"

Elephants, River rafting, great food experiences..very very nice. 3 hours by mini van to Pai from Chiang Mai..I recommend AYA minivan service, way better than the ones at the bus station...same price..way better service and vans."

"Despite having a fair amount of traffic and substantial commercial and retail areas, most of Lampang feels quiet and relaxing. It's a clean, neat and tidy place. Above all, it feels safe. The river winds through the town and there are several bridge crossing it, some only for pedestrians and bicycles. There are plenty of restaurants and shops. It's the sort of place that feels like it's always Sunday afternoon: snoozing rather than buzzing! I loved it."

"Amazing place. We arrived at 6:30 am (opening time) and had the place to ourselves! We were back before breakfast closed at 10:00. Visiting in the evening is also highly recommended. Mid-day is hot. I recommend staying near the historic site and riding bicycles (for rent and very inexpensive). We never went to New Sukhothai. We also took a day to visit Si Satchanalai (part of the UNESCO world heritage site) about an hour north. Very worthwhile!"

Highly recommend this hotel, rooms were a good sized, we opt for the premium room. Interior was new and nicely decorated. For families, you'd love that they have a kids club- which was well maintained and HUGE. Service was lovely, they allowed a late check out and very kindly helped us with a car transfer to the hotel. Only did 1 night in this hotel, but would love to return!

This resort exceeds all expectations in every way: Firstly, you get to picturesque location which cannot be matched. You eat all meals whilst looking out into the mountainside and seeing silhouettes of mountains. Secondly, the rooms are extremely well kept and the shower is unmatched. Depending on the room you purchase, you can even have a pool or jacuzzi in your backyard. The mountain room has crazy views. The facilities are fantastic. There is pool tables, table tennis, outdoor giant chess, spa treatments, pools, jacuzzis, a gym, and a million different relaxation areas. They even have free yoga classes and thai massage classes that you can attend. The food is also fantastic. As the location is isolated, having good food within the resort is a must. The restaurant can go above and beyond to meet your needs. I am a vegan and my partner was vegetarian; the restaurant was able to make custom meals for us at the breakfast buffet as well as dinner to suit whatever we were craving. They even went above and beyond and went to a local farm to get fresh passionfruit just for us on breakfast. The best part about this place is the staff. Everyone has a smile on their face and all staff are hardworking. From the people who drive you around in the golf carts, to the receptionists, to the spa workers, to the restaurant workers; everyone is happy to serve you. I had a nasty insect bite from a few days prior and the receptionst immediately got the medical kit and deinfected and wrapped my wound. Another receptionist took time out to show us the best rooms that they had to offer (this was after we checked out) which she didn't need to do but she did. Also a special mention to the restaurant worker, Chai. Every day he served us and made us feel so welcome. He had conversations with us, excitedly announced to everyone that we were honeymooning, and would also be so happy to see us when we visited the restaurant. Time after time he would make us feel so welcome. SUPER LOCATION!!!

Chiang Rai is a pretty small and quiet city with not a lot going on in town. If you time it right you can see all the major attractions near the city in one day (White and Blue Temple, Big Buddha, Baan Dam Museum) and just need to spend one night there. If you are planning to do things up in the mountains you will need more time. But you will also need a car/motorbike, private driver, or tour if you want to do these things.

There is just that historical park to visit.

There is just that historical park to visit. You can finish that in 2-4 hours maximum. Even if you walk the main zone by yourself, like we did, you still hire a tuk tuk or hop on hop off or some other ride. Good for biking. And in a vehicle you can see the rest of the zones quickly. Worth seeing is central and north zones. We should have booked 11 am departure instead of 4:30 and hated every minute we had nothing to do just waiting in the sweltering heat. So plan your trip well where you coming from and headed to and whichever mode of transportation you are using. We flew in from BKK previous evening. Next morning went to the park. Past 11 AM we were free until our 4:30 departure.

I ate at local thai restaurants and the food was incredible. If you don't have your own car or motorbike you can get a taxi, but that might get expensive quick, I paid 150-200 baht for a 15 minute taxi ride. The views are beautiful and serene, I stayed for a week and I lvoed it so much :)) I stayed at places near temples so I could walk everywhere!

Even thou Phitsanulok may seem or look like an old primitive...

Even thou Phitsanulok may seem or look like an old primitive town, it is great small city. Phitsanulok has great foods, great street foods and markets. Phitsanulok is famous and big for it's Temple's. Phitsanulok has some of the most precious and oldest temples in Thailand. The people in Phitsanulok are great, very kind, respectful and friendly, are never rude or aggressive. There are thousands and thousand's of motorcycle's and scooter's on the road but they all respect the road and every driver on the road, and all drivers respect them back. The Temple's are beautiful and amazing and a MUST see/visit. There are also big markets at the main Temple's and are open every day, and you can buy so many clothes, things and souvenirs for a very reasonable price. Everything is so much cheaper compare to Bangkok. The food in Phitsanulok is cheap and really good. Every week during night time there are huge street markets and street foodz which occur two or three times a week. There are so many verities of foods and some great tasty foods which are very cheap. You can find and buy anything in Phitsanulok. You must get a car or scooter to move around Phitsanulok as it is a pretty big town, or just catch Grab. Phitsanulok also has a major shopping center, many hardware stores and retail shops. There are many great cafes and restaurants in Phitsanulok, but you have to search and find them. Phitsanulok is also close to a very famous historical place called SUKHOTHAI, which is a place you must visit to understand the history of Thailand. Phitsanulok also has an Airport so it is easy to get to from Bangkok.

Nan is very interesting and really off the beaten track.

Nan is very interesting and really off the beaten track. The night market was so fun, local families coming together and eating together near the temples with loads of choice of food. The surrounds of Nan were lovely, I cycled nearly 70km and enjoyed it loads. It’s not build for tourists, which is great so it’s a really authentic piece of Thailand :)

Chiang Mai old town was my choice to stay and I do not...

Chiang Mai old town was my choice to stay and I do not regretted it. You don't need any form of transpotation as everything is walkable. Wear good shoes as the roads, pathways in the old town are not smooth. People with wheelchairs will have issues. You can find temples almost around every second corner. CM has some nice and surprisingly good museums. Plenty restaurants, bars to indulge yourself. Don't miss exploring all the narrow alleyways to find the good deals and to see the diversity of this old town.
