I like the central location, the friendly staff, and the onsen. My family also enjoyed the buffet breakfast.

Second time staying at Sunshine. I truly think it is great value for Kinugawa Onsen. The rooms are luxurious, the onsens are beautiful and serene. I love the foot bath cafe, and the view and bridge in autumn are spectacular.

Staff were fantastic, especially the Auntie!!! She was so kind, helpful, enthusiastic. The dinner and breakfast were incredible, super authentic, traditional Japanese style. The room was spacious, clean and fully equipped.

This was a delightful small family hotel . Loved the private onsen . The room was extremely comfortable. The staff was amazing . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay .

Dinner n breakfast was well presented n delicious. Dinner was allocated at a private room which was nice n quiet. The lady manager came to say thank you in Japanese which we had difficulty to understand but it was a very warm gesture and made us feel happy. Booking.com should always offer plan with dinner n breakfast for onsen hotel in Japan. Having Japanese kaiseki dinner set at Nanae was an unforgettable experience. Arigato Nanae and specially to Sato san who help us to carry our luggage from a distance away at hotel entrance.

Location - this area is tops for exploring nearby. So much to see in the area: Japanese history (2 shrines in easy walking distance) plus international embassies, but the most spectacular are the waterfalls. View of the lake from the room is so picturesque. The room is very basic but always clean. It was cleaned every second day of my stay. The hosts don’t speak much English but they are still helpful and the map of the area with nearby convenience store and cafes marked is a great reference. The bus stop is nearby which can take you further up the mountains to waterfalls, lakes and onsens or you can hike all the way and catch the bus back. The buses are easy to navigate and very regular.

You can walk from Kinugawa Onsen station, no need to drive. People are friendly and the front desk people are bilinguals, very helpful. The convenience store is just a block away. The best thing was that we saw monkeys! I will definitely go back again!

This guesthouse was immaculate, with charming little decorative touches. Lovely and serene location, with perhaps an 8 minute walk to bus stop. Our hosts could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Toshogu Shrine is stunning, but also see the waterfalls if you can! Great value. We will be back!
