Maybe did not expect is much but we were pleasantly surprised. Hotel feels new and is clean and roomy. Staff was nice and helpful. Rooms are big and had comfy beds. Location is great, good parking and next to the train station. It is in the center which means there are plenty of restaurants for dinner. Breakfast is really good!

Kouyurou Ikawa features a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 6.2 miles of Shuzen-ji Temple and 15 miles of Mount Daruma.

The staff are very helpful and are always trying their best to make sure your stay is comfortable. The food provided was really good and of high quality. The onsens are beautiful and also very well kept.

This was one of the best hotels we stayed at. The service, the food, the room and the location were top notch! We booked the room with a private onsen and we loved it! The room was very comfortable and everything was new and in very good condition! We had breakfast and dinner included, which is highly recommended and necessary since there is nothing nearby to eat. The buffet offered a very good variety and a good mix between western and oriental food. Everything was very tasty and of very good quality! Regarding the facilities, we did not try the public onsen since we had the private one in the room but it was very comfortable and with water from real hot springs! The location is very good, you can easily access everything there is to do in Hakone! (It is necessary to book a transfer with the hotel itself to get there from the main train station, since it is somewhat complicated to get there by public transport)

An exceptional location overlooking Ashi Lake, a few steps from the famous lake toril and from the legendary Samurai Walk in the forest along the shores of Lake Ashi. An enchanting garden with a beautiful view of the Fuji Yama when it is not cloudy. A comfortable Onsen open almost around the clock, with indoor and outdoor basins, sauna and massage chairs. A free shuttle bus to the center of Motohakone. Two excellent Japanese and French restaurants. Competent and helpful staff who offered a much better alternative arrangement for the next leg of our travel. Three nights were not enough for enjoying this enchanting place. We'll come back.
