Romantic Hotels in Lamego

We slept in one of the barrels, it's a bit small but offered a unique experience. The complimentary wine tasting was very nice. Great breakfast. We also had a very good dinner at the hotel restaurant.

The whole experience was great. The hot jacuzzi is such a great idea and it's magically to spend the sunset there

The place is beautiful and comfortable. We loved having an entire apartment, and especially the beautiful terrace. The proprietors are very nice and helpful, and gave us good tips on things to do. The grounds are awesome, even though it was tough for us to walk into town.

Perfect conditions and great location: close to everything in Douro Valley.

Our hosts were there when we arrived and very friendly and helpful for recommendations! They had the best recommendations for food and places to go! Also the breakfast was absolutely fabulous!

I visited the Quinta da Barroca in May 2026 during my trip to the Douro Valley, and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere and surrounding views were absolutely beautiful. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the overall system and service of the hotel were exceptional. A special thanks to the receptionist, whose name was probably Alex. He was a very kind and helpful person and guided us very well throughout our stay. The breakfast was also good, and the best part for our family was the swimming pools. My children enjoyed them a lot. The nearby scenery outside the hotel was breathtaking and made the stay even more memorable. I would definitely love to visit again very soon.

I would like to especially mention excellent breakfast and perfect staff, Cesar, Ana and Sara were absolutely kind and helpful. Views from terrace with their great wines were spectacular.

Loved the mid century vibe, the beautiful view of the Douro, the easy parking, and the great breakfast served in a lovely room. My husband said the shower was the best he’d had in any hotel, ever.

Wonderful staff, friendly owners and a rare glimpse into old tradition and refinement. With a nice view of the Douro river, the property is surrounded by vineyard and citrus trees. The stylish rooms are complemented by access to a nice living area and a large dining room. We also recommend the fancy dinner as an experience to remember. One suggestion though, windows insect nets.

We stayed in one of the rooms available to rent in the shared rental space. Our room itself was great - a comfy bed and comfy pillows, a tv with a variety of channels (including several english-speaking channels), roller blinds to block out light, a balcony with seating and a beautiful view of vineyards, and sufficient towels and toiletries (including bar soap, shower gel, and hand soap). Because this is a shared rental, you'd expect noise from other tenants but either the soundproofing is great or we just got lucky because we rarely heard anything other than birds chirping. In addition to the room, the shared spaces were great - a living room with a big tv, a dining area which was also used by us as a working area next to the living room, a kitchen (with use of a fridge, dishes, utensils, and a microwave and coffee and tea was provided), another dining area in the kitchen, a balcony off the kitchen, and a backyard in which you can relax on hammocks while you're surrounded by vines, fruit and vegetable gardens, and chirping birds. There is also a parking spot provided and free street parking, and the place/area is safe and secure. The rental is walking distance to the river, wineries, restaurants, bars, and the old town. The host, Adelino, is super awesome - if you get a chance to visit his cafe/bar in old town, you won't regret it! I highly recommend this rental and would stay again!
