Self-Catering Accommodations in San Marcos La Laguna

Amazingly scenic and comfortable lakefront room. The staff is very friendly and acommodating and the room has everything that you might need for a comfortable stay. You can take a boat right to the property so that you don't have to carry your bags a long way along the lakeside path. We stayed for New Year's Eve and the view of the fireworks displays from all the towns around the lake was exceptional.

Traveling with my daughter in Guatemala and we both agree that staying at Lake Front Retreat at Los Elementos was a highlight of our vacation. The two bedroom accommodations provided plenty of room for two of us. The views from the porch are amazing and very relaxing. We also really enjoyed the town of Santa Cruz. We had wonderful food and everyone was very warm and welcoming. The owners and hosts of this property were great to work with and provided many great recommendations. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

I love everything about this place. It truly feels like home. Don’t expect anything fancy—its charm lies in its rustic simplicity. You live in harmony with nature here. The people who run and manage the space are exceptional. Daniel is absolutely amazing—he makes sure every guest is well taken care of. Camille, who helps around, brings a gentle, feminine energy that softens and warms the space. Meeting the founder, Erik, is a wonderful bonus. I’m deeply grateful to all of them for creating and sharing this space with the community.

Location was very central and really nice overall. The appartment are recent and super well kept.

We loved everything about our stay! Paula was just so great and was always available and responded quickly to any questions or request. The property is absolutely stunning and exactly as advertised. The cabin was clean, had all needed supplies, hot water, small kitchenette for cooking and the most breathtaking view of the lake. Paddle boards were also available which was an unexpected bonus! Lanchas were very easy to get and passed by multiple times an hour. Very private, quiet and a perfect for a romantic getaway. Bed was 10/10 comfortable and had many extra blanket, towels as needed. Also a guardian on site to assist with any urgent matters. I would recommend Aurora to any friends or family visiting the lake.

The property is just 50 days old when we visited , it’s a brand new construction. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable . There is a full shared kitchen if you want to cook . Manager and family lives in the property, so any help is available immediately.

From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had discovered a true sanctuary. The wellness program was incredibly thoughtful and well-designed — I participated in the daily Yoga, guided breath work, and ice bath sessions. I stayed in the Emerald cabin. It was cozy, clean, and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The shared washrooms and kitchen were kept very clean and the property itself was well maintained. It was nice to be able to make my own meals. It’s only a 2 minute walk to Hippy highway and the nature reserve, but still felt very private. Was very quiet except for the sound of the birds, which was the best way to start the day. Taina was the host and was super helpful and accommodating. While I was there Jonathan (the owner and a fun guy) organized a sauna and cold plunge, which is also on the property. Next time I find myself in Guatemala I would make this my place my home base and travel around from there. I cannot wait to come back!

Newer clean building friendly staff

The view at this property is genuinely unparalleled with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the volcanoes. The balcony is framed in stunning honeysuckle and tropical flowers that bring hummingbirds right next to you and this is the closest thing to being in nature while still benefitting from the creature comforts of an indoor stay. We didn’t want to move from the chaise beds in front of the window- particularly because the hosts considered and provided so many thoughtful details to enhance the experience (like delicious fluffy bathrobes to enjoy as we drank our morning coffee looking out over Lake Atitlán). We appreciated the yoga mats and the open floor plan that allowed us to do some Barre3 in front of the view with the doors open to bring in the breeze. Even the lighting was extraordinarily thoughtful- with multicolored LEDs enhancing the foliage at night and sound activated lighting that really created some awesome ambiance. And, the host was truly wonderful too, allowing us a later check out so we could properly pack up before our afternoon tour plans in San Juan La Laguna. This was a tremendous value and such an awesome place- we were sad to leave and would stay there again in a hot second when we get to return to San Marcos.

Spacious and plenty of room for the 3 of us. Location provides great views of volcano, along with the villages of San Juan and San Pedro. Always a welcome oasis to return to this retreat home after a day out exploring. We would find a different place to enjoy on the property. Very well taken care of and has everything you need.

Perfect location in San Marcos, a quick 10 minute walk to the main streets and right on the water. The song of birds, the gorgeous garden, the rising sun over the volcanoes, wow. Very comfortable room, like a little home away from home.

Beautiful view, nice lakeside walk into town

The view was incredible from upstairs. There is a friendly cat named Luna who was cool.

The view was great and the management responded right away when we had an issue with checking in.

Awesome view of the lake and volcanoes with fully equipped kitchen, option to order food delivered. Responsive host to help get safe in and out on the trail! Eagles live nearby with gorgeous sunrise!
