Don't look any further for staying in Nukus--this apartment is the best! We stayed at a hotel highly recommended by our guidebook the first night in Nukus, then we did the Aral Sea adventure, and stayed in this apartment afterward. What a difference! The hotel was so plain and ordinary and cost $67 US. This apartment is huge, super-clean, nicely decorated, and cost almost 40% less. And it's in a great location right across from the famous art museum and about a 10-minute walk to the big bazaar. Plus, the Owner is such a great guy--he did undergraduate and graduate studies in USA on a wrestling scholarship. (We would have loved to invite him to dinner to get to know him better, but our taxi was coming and we had to leave.) A great experience and we wished we had stayed longer to enjoy the living room with huge TV and the fully-equipped kitchen. It's a no-brainer--stay here!

Lovely guesthouse to stay and explore nukus. The rooms were big and the AC worked well. The bathroom was very spacious and even though it's shared with other guests it is kept very clean. We were able to check in early and drop our bags off after our night train. The hosts were wonderful and even let us use their bbq to cook dinner on our last night! We enjoyed hanging out in their garden also
