United StatesThe staff was super friendly and accommodating. When we asked about laundry services at the hotel or nearby, they offered to do some for us although it was not a regular offering. Wonderful people. The breakfast is great, and the restaurant very good too (and popular, so book ahead if you’re there at a busy time).

Quiet as not in or attached to the pub.
I was really only there to sleep for a couple of nights, but it is roomy enough with sofa and side tables, so using it as a base for a longer holiday would be fine.
Breakfast menu has several options, all generous.
Nice pub, told the food is great for lunch and evenings too.
Rural, with nice country views.

-Breakfast was exceptional with plenty of options (Tick sheet to pick what warm food you would like, then a variety of cereals, yoghurts, jams and fruit)
- Bedrooms very spacious and clean
-Hot tub was a nice touch, as well as a new swimming pool.

Great location close to family we were visiting in Thirsk. Have stayed at property before & we will be back for sure! The hosts are super friendly & welcoming. Everything was ready when we arrived. Parking right next to the accommodation. Nice accommodation with kitchen, living room, bedroom & bathroom. V clean & tidy. Has everything we needed for a pleasant comfortable stay.

Very different than usual accommodation, quirky and attractive.Great range of food and beer to choose from.Cooking for ourselves was ideal ,all enjoyed it.
Did like the tea room staying open a bit later ,much appreciated.

We loved the location- near Thirsk, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales. We loved the accommodations- VERY nice and comfortable. James and Julie are great hosts. We also loved that the cottage was a rehabilitated farm building (amazing job of restoration) and is situated on a working farm. Alf Wight (James Herriot) was actually their vet.

It was the best accommodation and hosts we have experienced in 20 years of 2-3 night vacations . The hosts Lucie and Paul give you a warm greeting on arrival and nothing is too much trouble . The accommodation and the attention to detail are 2nd to none . Mowbray can't be faulted on any aspect . I advise anyone to stay .
