Duck Cottage is a pretty mews house which sits in a private secluded courtyard overlooking Cod Beck, a small river which runs through the town. Situated on the site of an old grain mill, the cottage is often visited by the local ducks who wander into the courtyard and sit on our doorstep. Duck Cottage has been a popular holiday destination since 2014.

Our cottage is cosy and welcoming and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. We provide a welcome pack to get you into holiday mode.

Duck Cottage is close to the famous cobbled market square in the centre of Thirsk which makes shopping very easy. There are many independent shops, pubs and eateries in the town which are a stone's throw away from the cottage. If you fancy a flutter, Thirsk Racecourse is only minutes away on foot and James Herriot fans can experience both the museum and the fictional town of Darrowby. Thirsk is ideally situated for visiting the beautiful surrounding Yorkshire countryside offering many opportunities for walking and sightseeing. The medieval city of York is only 30 minutes drive away.
