What a beautiful place to stay! A little slice of heaven. I couldn't stop looking out the window and taking in the view. My husband and I had the entire wing to ourselves, which was great! No worries about privacy going from our room to the shower and toilet. In the morning he had a lounge to relax in and get caught up on work. We also appreciated the portable heater in the room. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options to choose from, and one day we hope to return. Just absolutely lovely!

Masham is a lovely place and the people are so friendly - lots of independent shops to browse in, and a small market , think that's held 3 times a week . We ate where we stayed as the Kings Head. Both had the Lamb Duo and it was delicious 😋! Went in most of the shops that were open and if I had to choose a favourite, it was the one opposite where we were staying , think it was called Jonevan or something similar. Lots of different things in there and the lady working there was great.

Typical market town with lots of places to eat, have coffee etc and plenty of parking in the market centre with Honesty Box charges rather than "per hour" prices. Walking distance to the Visitor Centre for the Theakston Brewery and regular tours round the Brewery itself. Some nice pubs within the centre or within walking distance and the surrounding countryside is just beautiful. Not sure about activities for "young couples" like us!!! Being late 70s and nearly 80s but just being surrounded by the amazing landscapes - if you're able to walk or cycle - this is def the place for you!!!!!

The 2 famous breweries both have excellent visitor...

The 2 famous breweries both have excellent visitor experiences. We knew this before visiting so hearing brewery lorries did not detract from our visit. Apart from the brewrry traffic, Masham is quite peaceful and relaxing to walk around.

There are many lovely walks in the area.

There are many lovely walks in the area. The Brimham Rocks are really worth visiting, as is Fountains Abbey. This was our 4th time to Masham, home of my husbands favourite beer, Old Perculiar. Because of its popularity, Masham is getting very expensive.

Lovely market town with several interesting short walks.

Lovely market town with several interesting short walks. A good place to stay for visiting Fountains Abbey, Hackfall woods and follies and the stunning Himalayan garden and sculpture park. We stayed at the King's Head and couldn't fault it.

Masham is a lovely town and has some great pubs and two breweries. There is also lots to do in Wensleydale ( Waterfalls, river walks, countryside walks, the druids temple, castles etc. ) all within a short drive.

Great located hotel, we stayed in a large double which was very roomy, the bathroom is small but shower was good. Tea, coffee etc in room. Gabby our host was very attentive, but don't creep up behind her as she is very jumpy :) she was very pleasant. Free parking outside if you can get it or an honesty box in the market square. Masham is very pleasant and Harry's chippy lovely. Great brewery tour within a 5 minute waking distance. Nice river walk and a church that rings its bells nearby. Lovely location. Hope to visit again.

The Spa and all the facilities around it were excellent. We also enjoyed the wild swimming. The hotel itself is superb (though in some areas, dealing with water ingress is clearly a challenge!). The grounds are stunning and we particularly enjoyed how dog friendly the establishment is. Finally, the staff were clearly well trained and effortlessly made us feel welcome.

Lovely flow out to the garden. Great location in the centre of Masham. Fabulous butchers across the road. All pubs and breweries easy walking distance. We were worried about parking, but got to park 2 cars on the road or in long stay, which is a couple of minutes walk down some stairs.

Love this place. So friendly and welcoming. We had a courtyard room, loads of space. Very dog friendly. Food and beer excellent. Very warm, cheery and welcoming. Real fire in the bar. Beautiful Old Peculier. Can't fault this hotel and will return.
