The Poplars, originally a farm house built in 1901, is an impressive detached property with far reaching grounds. Set within an acre of gardens, the Poplars Rooms & The Poplars Cottages are all accessed via their own private entrances. Both of our rooms are exceptionally well equipped with all the comforts you would expect from a quality driven establishment; Freeview TV, Power Shower, Free WiFi, Bathrobes, Mineral Water and Tea & Coffee facilities make for those extra special touches. Please be aware that because we are a family run B & B and not a hotel with a staffed reception desk, we do ask our guests to try and adhere to our usual check in time of between 4pm and 4.30pm. If you would hope to arrive at a different time, please advise in advance, earlier and later check ins will always be accommodated wherever possible, but having a specific time allows us to balance the needs of our young family with those of our guests. Please note: our standard double (Ryedale) room DOES NOT accept dogs. Our Family / Triple room ( Nidderdale ) and all 5 cottages DO allow dogs. Dogs are charged at 10 GBP per dog in the rooms , only 1 per room If Self Catering and a little more space is your preference, then our 5 Holiday Cottages are located to the rear with views of neighbouring fields & livestock. All cottages are fully equipped and we offer WIFI & Plentiful parking. Cottages can be accessed from 2pm on the day of arrival, and can all be found unlocked with keys in the doors, ready for your arrival. No need to 'check in' just help yourselves and get settled. Dogs are welcome in all 5 of our Cottages. Ideally located for access to all major routes ( A1, A61 & A19) as well as being only 250m from the train station, The Poplars is an ideal base for business or pleasure.

The Poplars is located in the village of Carlton Miniott, is within easy access of all major roads and with a direct train service to York and beyond. The Village benefits from 3 public houses, all serving bar meals. Thirsk Market place, with its weekly market on a Monday & Saturday, is only a 15 minute walk.
