Lovely size, comfortable and relaxing.

Lovely size, comfortable and relaxing. Remote area, so would need transport. Very clean, beds and bedding super comfortable. All equipment catered for in the kitchen, even arrived to milk, bread, butter, wine, crisps, biscuits, eggs, tea, coffee and toilet paper in all wc’s. Plenty of parking for at least 5/6 cars, garden lovely. Log burner in lounge made for a cosy feel to the evening. Went to visit family, we had 3 generations of family ranging in age from 27 to 85 and all enjoyed the place. Plenty of takeaway places for food in Swaffham 14 mins down the road. Owners brilliant, dropped of logs, fire lighters etc for fire. Over all we all had a brilliant long weekend and look forward to going back sometime on the future.

Narborough is a small, quiet village known for its fishing lakes which are very popular. There is only one take away in the village which is chinese food and in our opinion not the best but the village is within a short driving distance of many pubs and restaurants and grocery stores. There are a lot of places to see in the area so it makes a quiet base for exploring or visiting family.

As I told you, if they told me, there was no food available.

As I told you, if they told me, there was no food available. I would not of stayed had I known because this place is out in the wilds and you need to get something to eat specially for breakfast I did offer so give me an apron and I’ll cook my own, but that didn’t go down very well.

For those who don’t know the area, it should be pointed out that it is situated in the village of Shouldham. Very pretty with a village green. Shouldham Thorpe is a small hamlet, about a mile and a half away. The hotel is a converted school, the primary school that I actually attended from 1953. The owners have done a great job on the conversion and I felt very happy there, a quirky place!

Oxburgh Hall is a charming National Trust property with beautifully maintained gardens and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making our visit all the more enjoyable. While the house and grounds are lovely, we did feel it was a bit pricey compared to other National Trust sites, especially as the grounds are relatively small with less to explore. Still, it’s a pleasant place for a relaxed visit, especially if you’re in the area.

Clean, tidy, quiet. Spectacular views.

Clean, tidy, quiet. Spectacular views. All you needed for self catering was provided. Only constructive criticism is that shower needs a hand held shower pipe as the one fitted means you have to wash your hair everyday

Gorgeous setting with beautiful grounds, outlook and local places of interest. A must is to see Oxborough Hall. Afterwards sample good food and wine at the Beddigfeld Arms. Staying is a good, comfortable experience .

I would not recommend this property to anyone.

I would not recommend this property to anyone. We stayed here as a large group of families, and the experience was incredibly disappointing. From the start, the property had blocked sinks, lights that didn’t work, and cobwebs everywhere a clear sign it hadn’t been properly cleaned or maintained. The lights were only fixed on the last night, which was pointless by then. When I raised these issues with the cleaners, they were rude, and when I took the matter to management, I was shocked at their response. Instead of addressing our concerns, they gave excuses and acted as if we were being unreasonable. When I mentioned I would leave an honest review, the manager actually said: “Don’t threaten me with a review, I’m not bothered about it.” That says everything about the level of service and care you can expect here. As a paying guest, I expect basic standards: cleanliness, working facilities, and professionalism. None of that was provided. I was embarrassed, especially as the organiser of the trip. I will not be staying here again and will be advising friends and family to do the same. Hopefully, this review encourages the host and management to take guest feedback seriously and make real improvements because right now, this place is nowhere near acceptable.

Enjoyed our stay very much from the moment we arrived the staff were very attentive. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our little dog was made very welcome and there was always a bowl of fresh water and beefy bones for her. Would very much recommend this hotel to anyone who loves to travel with their four legged friend.
