Great stay. Even tough we were late for our checkin (our fault, as the coastal drive was just too beautiful) the hosts were very nice and left us the keys in the box. Very cosy little pod with everything you need for a nice stay.

Beautiful modern accommodation with lots of space, a comfortable bed, large bathroom and peaceful surroundings. The unit is separate from the main house and we were able to check in later than expected. Host even provided us with scones for the next morning.

The River Island Hotel was absolutely stunning! The service and food exceptional, excellent value and such a great location to explore County Kerry! You cannot go wrong with staying here, the locals are all lovely as well, be sure to pop into the pubs next door and the antique shop across the street!

Wonderful property, clean, modern yet classic in its design...

Wonderful property, clean, modern yet classic in its design and appointments. The host is very nice, friendly and accommodating, the rest of the family are very friendly and polite. Breakfast was very good and choices were welcome. The location of the property provided a central and easy highway(motorway) access to explore the countryside easily. The host was very knowledgeable about the town and area and provided great recommendations on site to see. I would most certainly go back to this establishment.

This home is located in the best location for vistors who...

This home is located in the best location for vistors who want to do the ring of Kerry, 5 minutes from Kerry Airport and sitting between the two main towns of Tralee ( 10km away) and Killarney ( 14km away) and very handy on road to Limerick /Shannon Airport. It is in the country side of stunning beauty and really is a gem. It has the best of resources, good coffee maker, airfryer, microwave, smart TV's, excellent wifi , 2 x spare single fold out beds, 2 travelling cots. There is enough room to park 4 cars and it has a lovely garden and outside seated area.

It was good, a bit quirky.

It was good, a bit quirky. But if you don't have "sat-nav", booking.com directions won't get you there. I used an Eirecode finder on my phone but we still needed to call for the final few steps to get there.

Everything at the Blue Door was beautiful.

Everything at the Blue Door was beautiful. The house is completely renovated, spotlessly clean, and in a perfect location. We wish we could have stayed longer! The host was congenial and very helpful in suggestions for finding an Irish cousin for us. Best stay of our two weeks in Ireland.

The car was parked right outside the accomadation that was perfect . It was near the pub walking only 50 yards. Was not as good as advertised was not part of the country club. Was being updated and needs to be . I thought I paid for An upmarket accomadation being called the country club . It was an indipendant accomadation from the pub and country club

The bedrooms were excellent. Spacy and spotless.

The bedrooms were excellent. Spacy and spotless. However at about 6.30am there was a lot of noise from the users of the adjoining room's shower. We also heard the occupant/s the evening before. The noise of the water was entirely due the the bad insulation of the walls. I think it will be a major problem in the future.

It is the best. The Pub is just perfect.

It is the best. The Pub is just perfect. I would imagine that there are not many of these relics left in Ireland. The hospitality, room and the food were all first class. I would actually love to return to Milltown, as this pub is brilliant.

Just right was the ONE night.

Just right was the ONE night. The hallway on entry smelt of dog (I like dogs) but this was unpleasant. A very tiny TV!!!!! No tea/coffee making in room. Hidden electrical sockets! The host and her daughter were very welcoming and pleasant.

Castleisland is a perfect location for a summer break.

Castleisland is a perfect location for a summer break. It has lots of shops, coffee shops, restuarants, pubs, gift shops, pubs and a lovely hotel called River Island. It also has lots of beauty salons and nail bars that unfortunately I did not get the time to book. Very friendly people and very close to Tralee, to beaches and lovely places for walks and fun activities for kids. Only about 70 minutes from Dingle.

I was happy with the accommodation and the local pub(s).

I was happy with the accommodation and the local pub(s). However, please note that this is all in a small hamlet called Boolteens, which is about 3 miles from Castlemaine, so you don't need to visit the latter!
