We loved the location on the lake. Beautiful views. The house was nice and had plenty of room. It was nice to have the garage as we had rented bicycles. My grandson really appreciated the toys. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials. We loved the patio and picnic table for lake view lunches. Loved the hot tub.

Our unit that we stayed in was great. Plenty of room for us, great kitchen facilities and plenty of linen. I loved the 'cautionary' messages that reminded us to do things to enhance our stay (like closing the windows at night so the bugs don't get in).

Perfect facilities for our 3 couples and 2 young kids. 4 bedrooms with a living room couch for insomniacs or snorers. Two full baths. Far enough from downtown to avoid the sulfur smells, but close enough to drive there in minutes. Quiet neighborhood.

There is a lot of cool touristy things to do in Rotorua, was also a food truck festival for Matariki when we went which was a bonus! Alot of the attractions are really expensive but I can say most are worth the money. Luge day was awesome family fun, and Eat Street a nice vibe with overpriced but ok for a holiday beer and food ( honestly the smallest burger patty I have ever paid for, but yolo). Parking free on weekends and public holidays ( at least thats what 2 sources told me!), went back to the car saturday morning to find out they charge from 9am until 12, still waiting for my fine to come in the mail, thanks Rotorua council! Beautiful spot though still a solid recommend for a weekend away.

Hamurana is a beautiful, quiet spot on the outskirts of Rotorua.
Close enough to all the attractions with the added bonus of peace and quiet.
Our accommodation on the Lake edge was so tranquil and peaceful we 'hunkered ' down for the weekend choosing only to venture out for walks.

Shower recess had no shower caddy & products had to be placed on the floor. Beds were uncomfortable. Enclosed verandah couldn’t be used as it was very musty & smelly. No adequate wine glasses. Salt provided but no pepper. BBQ had no protection from the rain. Turn in off road was difficult due to gate. View was nice. Place was clean. Wifi was dodgy. No fly screens, so couldn’t open windows.

Amazing place for walks and adventures.
Amazing place for walks and adventures. But that's most of it. Not much night life or city center activities.
You have to drive if you want to get anywhere at all.
Polynesian Spa is a must, and might be good enough to spend your down times in.

Great location - away from the bustle of Rotorua - but just a quick drive to get into town. Super close to the amazing Okere Falls cafe and lovely bush walk. Easy access to zip lining, sledging and white water rafting. Relaxing space, and a little less sulphur smell than other areas around the lake.

We stayed on Fenton St; it is wonderful that everything is within 5-minute drive either way.
We dined at: the Chapman’s Buffet & Bar at the Rydge's Hotel - nice food and venue. Family House Korean BBQ Restaurant - Yummy if you like to cook your own meats and have it your way.
Did the Duck tour - great, interesting tour for tourists and visitors
Polynesian Spa - amazing time there
All activities were family friendly

The hotel staff and management were helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean, warm and tidy. Restaurant and food were excellent. Location is a short drive from the city. The facillities were superb.
Highly recommend to anyone wanting a good hotel at a reasonable price.
