Beach Hotels in Ribeira Grande

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The view is amazing, and the indoor pool is pleasantly warm—very comfortable for families with kids. The breakfast is excellent, and the mattress is just right—not too soft and not too firm. A parking spot is also available, which is very convenient. Overall, everything was perfect, especially the stunning view and beautiful sunsets.

Cleanliness, proximity to the beach Santa Barbara.

Location was amazing, facilities were clean, shared bathrooms were always available. The bathrobes were a nice touch since we had to walk from our room to the bathroom. They provided us with bath towels and beach towels that we were allowed to take with us to the beach/hot-springs. We were also able to park right on the street outside and were always able to find a parking spot nearby.

Very relaxing…. Great place to relax and unwind. Very quiet and serene. The staff were superb…. Courteous and very friendly. We enjoyed an old fashioned made with butter. Best old fashioned that we have tried. We had a fantastic experience!

The location of this property was so nice as it was within walking distance to the beach but also easy driving access to everything on the island. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast each day was perfect. Very clean accommodations.

Eco Surflodge Azores is truly a gem.. I would even call it a boutique hostel. The interior is tastefully designed, with a warm and relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in ♥️ I stayed in the shared dormitory and was genuinely impressed. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, with high-quality linens, duvets, and even two pillows (a rare luxury in hostels!). The privacy curtains around each bed created a real sense of personal space and quiet, something every traveler appreciates. The bathrooms were just as delightful: beautifully maintained and aesthetically pleasing. That said, I would kindly suggest that fellow guests take a little more care to keep the shared areas tidy, especially during busy hours - it would make the space even more enjoyable for everyone. If I may propose two small improvements: it would be very helpful to have a few hooks in the dorm room for jackets or coats, as well as inside the shower cabins for towels or clothing. These little practical touches can go a long way ☺️ Now, the breakfast deserves its own praise - generous, varied, beautifully presented, and with plenty of options for vegetarians. Quite honestly, many hotels would be proud to offer a breakfast of this quality! My only suggestion, as someone who has both traveled extensively and previously run a hostel myself, would be to consider extending the breakfast serving time slightly. With only one hour available, it can get a little crowded, and it’s a shame not to be able to fully enjoy such a lovely meal in a relaxed setting. The staff were kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. In short: a truly wonderful place - full of thoughtful details and a warm, stylish atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Cleanliness and friendly staff

Lorena and Fernando are the most amazing and hospitable hosts. They really care for their guests and want to make sure they have an amazing time. They can provide you with a lot of information about what you can do on the island and are genuinly nice to talk to. Even though we had a language barrier we could still sit down and have a nice chat. I would really recomend staying here as a solo female traveler. I felt really safe and welcome. Bonus points: The accomodation is really close to the beach and surfschool, and great food is made by lorena and fernando! Parking was excellent. It was right outside. Easy access great communication with the host could’ve done without the dogs and cats at night but that’s OK very clean beautiful accommodations water coffee breakfast fruit loved everything.

Nothing but good things to say, convenient location, super clean, and great view from our room.

For the price of a nice hotel room, we got a full kitchen, dinning area, living room and large bathroom with walk-in shower. Add to that a patio with outdoor table and chairs, so one could enjoy morning coffee outside if the weather cooperated. Parking was provide in a secured lot that was about a 5 minute walk.

The property was extremely clean and inviting. A very comfortable space. The grounds are beautiful. Our hosts were so accommodating and responsive, always asking what we needed, and giving those thoughtful little touches that make your stay that much better. The fireplace was so nice in the evenings. Just a lovely place overall. We also liked that it was situated in the middle of the north coast of the island, so traveling to see things both east and west was easy.

We loved staying at Pico do Refugio. The staff is great, the apartment is lovely and very nicely designed. There is a common room where you can get coffee and cookies whenever you like and a pool with salty water. We appreciated that we had basic things in our apartment like salt, pepper, olive oil and coffee. Also, there is a laundry room. Overall, staying at Pico guarantees that you will have a relaxing holiday.

The location is wonderful and each unit quite private. An easy walk to restaurants in the evening.
