WOW, what a wonderful stay we had at the Homestead. A stunningly decorated farmhouse in a shabby country style. The kitchen was amazing, the amount of quality pots, pans, boards, plates, crockery I've never experienced anywhere else around the world. Made even better with all the condiments and other items needed for any cooking during our stay. All beds were extremely comfortable and every room styled in a country theme. We enjoyed the outside area also, felt like we were in Tuscany. Wine & cheese bought from nearby, and making pizzas, with vineyards, olive & fruit trees, and a sunset behind the hills. What can I say Under the Tuscan Hills. The seating and lighting under there pergola with pizza oven was a night for our group to remember and cherish. Thank you Lisa for your dedication in providing your guests with a wonderful Experience in the Granite Belt

As return visitors we enjoyed the experience more than ever.

As return visitors we enjoyed the experience more than ever. Twisted Gum Cottage is more than comfortably fitted out, warm in the winter time that we were there, and in tranquil settings with nothing but birdcall to break the silence. It is within easy distance of the attractions of the Granite Belt and a great location from which to base your explorations. Michelle and Tim are exceptional hosts and will make you feel welcome. They also produce exceptional wines!

This is a large and well presented house, with modern features and very comfortable beds and furniture. The hosts were very prompt with their communications, and entry to the property was easy. This house is perfect for a large group or family/families on a Granite Belt getaway.

We had booked another venue and a couple of weeks before it...

We had booked another venue and a couple of weeks before it was discovered we were double booked and Girraween Country Inn was offered to us as we specifically wanted to attend the Apple and Grape festival. which we had done over the previous forty years. We had never stayed in the area before so wanted to spend some time exploring the areas we had previously just driven through. We were unsure where the property was situated so took our time to find it. The directions were excellent as we arrived early afternoon. There were also others staying at the accommodation who attended the festival so we were able to share experiences. Our hosts Doug and Sherree did their utmost to look after us and we thank them for this.

Ballandean is a very small town situated 15 minutes south of Stanthorpe. It has a chemist, bakery, general store with fuel and a tavern. Several wineries are close to this location. It is a short drive to nsw.

The location was remote & very quiet.

The location was remote & very quiet. The road in was a bit rough. The cottage was drafty but warm with the fire & air con going. All facilities worked well & the beds were very comfortable. Ballandean did not have anywhere to eat & Stanthorp only had one pub available on a Monday night. Couldn't find a restaurant open. Unfortunately, our car broke down & it was impossible to hire a car within 100km of Ballandean.

We visited 6 wineries and enjoyed everyone for service and...

We visited 6 wineries and enjoyed everyone for service and quality. Enjoyed Symphony Hill wines, Aventine Vineyard and Just Red Wines (all excellent). Had a great time at balancing heart (pizzas music) and host at giraween estate wines was fun. Wineries were close to James Farmhouse. We had lunch at Ballandean tavern and pizzas at Balancing Heart estate. Food was good. Would have liked to stay a little longer and enjoy discovering more of countryside. Family had a ball enjoying farmhouse facilities and Ballandean.

Lovely, peaceful setting for a few days away. Stacey & Brad were fantastic hosts and quick to respond to any questions/requests. Ballandean is nice & quiet and the pub food is excellent. Easy access to Girraween National Park. The included breakfast was lovely, and the coffee was great! You can pick what time you would like to eat. The communal lounge/dining space with a lovely fireplace and view is very relaxing and comfortable.

Fantastic location for a quiet weekend away, close to wineries and all the activities we had planned in the Stanthorpe and Ballandean area. Beautifully furnished cabin with everything you could possibly need, lots of thoughtful touches.

It was a beautiful, cozy cottage - perfect for our family of 4. Great location to get around the Granite Belt. We found Ballandean to be a way more central location to the wineries and Girraween, compared to Stanthorpe.
