AustraliaThe location is perfect. We stayed in a studio unit which was modern and clean. There were nice touches such as body lotion and biscuits with the various teas, coffee and hot chocolate - these no longer seem standard in other places these days. Turtle well-being is paramount which is to be commended. We need to protect such a natural wonder and Turtle Sands takes this responsibility seriously which is great. The complimentary yoga sessions were great too

AustraliaWe loved the location. Walk out the back straight onto the beach. Halfway between the Basin and the Surf Life Savers Flags.
Only a short walk down to the shops or walk back to the unit after dinner.
Unit facilities made our stay comfortable and cool. Aircon in the rooms, along with fans was great. Loved having the pool to jump in as well.
All staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a beautiful stay in Bargara.
We had a beautiful stay in Bargara. The location is perfect, right by the ocean with stunning views and easy access to cafes and walking paths. The area feels peaceful and safe, ideal for families and relaxing getaways. The apartment was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and the pool and spa were a lovely bonus. Sunrises and sunsets were absolutely breathtaking from the balcony.
If anything, a few small details in the apartment could be updated, but nothing that took away from the overall experience.
Would definitely recommend Bargara for a relaxing coastal escape and would happily return.

After the recent flooding and rain, the ocean water was...
After the recent flooding and rain, the ocean water was quite muddy. The beaches do have a lot of rocks but there are sandy patches where it's good to swim. Ricks restaurant was a great place to eat and also had very good coffee. The cool seabreeze made the foreshore and Ricks a very pleasant place to sit and relax. The foreshore is nicely done up and a pleasant spot to spend time.

It was close to activities mainly based at Bundaberg and Mon Repos, the local shops and cafes/restaurants were more than adequate as well as groceriry stores and other ammenities. There are plent yof beaches in fairly close proximity but you will need a car.

Bargara is a beautiful sleepy beachside town.
Bargara is a beautiful sleepy beachside town. Close to Mon Repos (the turtle sanctuary) and other small village areas like Burnett Heads, Elliott Heads and Coral Cove, it sits in a semi-rural fresh food producing landscape with year round mild weather conditions. Sea breezes ensure that even on the hottest days relief can be found in shaded leafy areas, protected swimming beaches, and pools. The area is serviced by high quality but affordable eateries; be they in the vicinity of The Esplanade or at the local clubs. Get a beautiful sunny morning or evening and The Esplanade foreshore is stunning for walkers, runners and those who just love to sit and look at the sea and the occasional whales that pass by. The main attraction of Bargara is its leafy green foreshore, compact size, and accessibility to the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. Three and a half hours drive from Brisbane, the population of Bargara is dominated by retirees who bring a quieter appreciation and tone to the area, but years of State Government and Regional Council neglect means a less than adequate regional hospital service in the area for residents and tourists alike; despite a huge demand for a centralised high quality health service to support regional growth and development. In domino fashion, the lack of essential services support for the regions unusual demographic imbalance spoils it's appeal and potential for long-term residence. Nevertheless, the area remains a short-term oasis away from the over-populated and manic shopping centres and mind numbing traffic gridlock so prevalent now in the lower Queensland southeast coast region.

This is a nice small town with everything you need.
This is a nice small town with everything you need. Grocery stores are a 5 minute drive and smaller shops and restaurants are walkable. Much of the ocean shore is rock but there are several swimming beaches. They have a golf club, bowling club and miles of walking trails.

Bargara is small and very laid back. it is easy to drive around and not a lot of traffic. We enjoyed coffee at Rick's cafe in the heart of Bargara. We aso enjoyed having lunch at the Bargara Bowling Club. On another occasion we took outselves over to Burnett Heads where we enjoyed the local fish and chips around the Marina. We love walking and Bargara certainly is the place to do lots of enjoyable walks especially alongside the beachfront. The walking paths, along with plenty of seating and restrooms have been well organised by the local council. Cannot wait to return net year.

The rooms were lovely and it was in a convient location. If we were put in the room we paid for when we arrived it would have been a 5 star review. The first room was good for a garden view room but not at an ocean view price. When booking an ocean view room I recommend contacting the hotel and confirming.

Location is perfect. Beach across the road and walking paths for morning walks, beautiful hotel next door for dinner and drinks, nice bakery and cafes to have breakfast 2 min walk. Will go back again.
