Going to Darby street for the food,

Going to Darby street for the food, Newcastle Memorial Walk is good day or night, Parking is tight though. Checking out the Light rail and the Muesum, free Fort Scratchely is overwhelming, and free Next time Art Gallery Ferry to Stockton Tunnel tour at Fort Scratchely

Lots to see and do.

Lots to see and do. We are a mature couple and only visited for a few hours on a road trip south towards Sydney on a Sunday afternoon. The waterfront and Memorial Walk were highlights for us. I was surprised to find waterfront cafes closing at 3.00PM. Nice to carnival near beach. I want to return and spend a couple of days seeing and doing much more.

Very lovely city.

Very lovely city. The river and a port is most impressive with massive ships entering from the ocean. Good information centre and museums. There are a lot of cafes/bars around centre, noone will be hungry or thursty. Live music in some of them during the evening. Good public transport, light rail works until late even on Saturdays with only 15 min intervals between trains.

Watch out for the speed cameras everywhere if you're driving. Sometimes you don't see the signs, depending on what lane you're in. Better to not speed. Easy to get around and nice food

Had a meetup with old workmates across at Station hotel .

Had a meetup with old workmates across at Station hotel . Had takeaway dinner from cafe downstairs good, bed was awesome. and full kitchenette very good. Bus and train at door easy to get around Newcastle. Parking iffy busy inner city and extra $ for early checkin was a little too much. 7/10 only because my wife could not work the door buttons keyless access we are seniors. def recommend would be great for business nearby. local cafe strip bars Hamilton nearby 10 mins walk.

Newcastle was surprising, apart from the great scenery,...

Newcastle was surprising, apart from the great scenery, beaches, and boardwalks, there are a lot of choices for Cafes, Restaurants, and Day trips... definitely worth a visit. Plus, a stay at the Little National Hotel was a bonus.

Lovely ocean view from the windows, was so nice hearing the ocean/ waves at night. The location was brilliant- so close to the Newcastle Ocean Baths and two beaches. walking distance also to cafes & restaurants. a grocery store down the road is handy. a decent size room. good shower pressure. air con unit worked very well.
