This is a fine modern Chinese city but be prepared with google translate because they don't speak English or another language. They try but they really don't. The city merges an impressive new part with a very nice historical site. The only thing that bothered me were the silent electric bikes crawling on the sidewalks and scaring the shit out of me every time they passed me from behind.

Guangzhou exceeded my expectations with its rich culture, delicious food, convenient transport, and friendly people. It is a vibrant city that perfectly blends tradition with modern life. It is a fantastic city for shopping, with an incredible variety of products and bargains on offer. There is so much to see and buy that you could shop until you drop! I would definitely visit again.

Guangzhou itself was a pleasant surprise. The city offers excellent food, especially its famous dim sum, and the evening river cruise provides stunning views of the city’s skyline. For families with children, Chimelong Safari Park is a must-visit attraction, although I would recommend setting aside a full day to fully enjoy it. One thing to note is the weather—our visit in May was very hot and humid, which could be tiring for young children. If possible, consider visiting during the cooler months for a more comfortable experience.

Guangzhou is a beautiful, good food and scenery. Do not travel in the month of May, weather is hot and humid. The best time comes to the city is around late October or November. They don't accept Visa and cash that much, apply Aliplay or WeChat. Aliplay is easy to download on your iPhone, we travel in China using Aliplay most of the time, they are accepted throughout the country. WeChat is little bit of difficult to apply, except you know how to do it. We used DiDi most of time, fast and affordable, it is the same as Uber in North America.

One of the ultimate objectives of our visit to Guangzhou is to visit Canton Tower. Very fortunate during our visit, we met a thunderstorm at 7.30pm local time. We managed to capture a sudden lightning strike at the backside of the Tower. We wish to share this joyful moment with the potential visitor. This is the pride of Canton Tower, Guangzhou China.

Food in guangzhou was great and prices are very good We had authentic cantonese food, vietnamese and korean food. it was easy to get around using the alipay we enjoyed Parc Central. there was good choices of food, very modern with plenty of new retail concepts. Although a bit confusing to go around because of the way the stores are laid out. the tax free system still needs improvement. i bought some stuff in IGC mall. it took so long for them to finish the application and i wasnt able to get the refund at the airport because there were errors good for a business traveller

In the past 10 years, I have always booked in this hotel during the Canton Fair because the service was a high standard, but I will never come here again because the standard has deteriorated a lot. The food in the restaurants became low-level, but the prices were raised significantly, the rooms were very shabby, not Shangri-la.

Great location and the Canton Fair, with the free shuttle bus being a big plus.( 40mins travel) The hotel is close to Beijing Road shops, restaurants, and the metro, which made getting around very easy. Very cheap hotel, not so far a way from Canton fair grounds. The staff is very helpful, but they do not speak english and everything goes through translators on the mobile devices. The rooms are ok like size for single vistor, but some of them need to be renovated.
