The location is lovely if you are looking for a charming & quite village with just enough infrastructure. I especially liked the walkability to the plaza around the corner. Be aware it’s 2km from the train station if you’re traveling without a car. The house a very charming and has a lot of lovely touches. Last but not least I really appreciated the owners hospitality - they both went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible

Jimena de la Frontera is a lovely rural town with a view of surrounding countryside and of Gibraltar in the distance. The castle at the top of the town is very interesting and nicely preserved (as ruins.) we enjoyed good food and friendly service at the local restaurants off of the main town square.

Well positioned for general access to the village, we were at a car show in the town square a 5 min walk. The restaurants around the square were friendly, of good quality and with 'Spanish prices' not tourist rip offs.

The town was very tranquil and pleasant.

The town was very tranquil and pleasant. Our aim was to visit Castillo de Castallar which was easily reached. We enjoyed pollo asado from a stand by the plaza and the well stocked grocery store below the house had everything we needed. We found free parking right in front of the house, but then realized that the exit route was narrow and very pitched. After, we just left the car in the public space at the town entrace and walked up.

Jimena de la Frontera is a great place to visit, bars,...

Jimena de la Frontera is a great place to visit, bars, restaurants and great views from all over the village. It is very well located for a visit to the coast (Estepona, Malaga, Cadiz or Soto Grande), or inland to Ronda, Gaucin or Jerez. Sevilla and Cordoba also possible but Jimena is a place you don't need to leave either. Many great walks right from Jimena and a great place to relax and have a holiday.

Pretty pueblo blanco with a good interesting FREE castle.

Pretty pueblo blanco with a good interesting FREE castle. Nice narrow cobbled streets. Bars and a municipal swimming pool. Excellent scenery around. Plenty of Brits; if you like that kind of thing! Good for a day or two. If you’re a birdwatcher: Egyptian and Griffon Vultures, Black Kite, Booted Eagle and Lesser Kestrel over/from the castle/village.

Warm and friendly welcome from the owners. I had a nourishing and delicious evening meal and lovely breakfast. They also made me a packed lunch for my walk. I had forgotten my walking poles and the owners very kindly drove to reunite me with them after I had left the hotel. So kind and I was very appreciative. There's a yoga studio too if you're interested in classes. Highly recommend this place, walker friendly.

Lovely building with loads of original features. The resident cat is very friendly. She greeted us on arrival and showed us to our room. She kept us warm by sleeping on the bed! Every hotel should have one ( I think she might actually be the manager)
