The light filled studio at La Casa Chula is a newly renovated compact self-catering apartment situated at the top of the village, close to the castle and directly facing the national park. The studio's Japanese-inspired elegant decor adds to a sense of clean lines and freshness. The mezzanine floor, accessed via a wooden staircase, has two comfortable futon beds. The living room under the mezzanine has a sofa and coffee table and is equipped with internet TV. There is a small well equipped kitchenette with fridge, induction hobs, a microwave with oven and sink. The modern bathroom also reflects the same elegant style as the rest of the apartment, and is designed to maximise convenience and comfort. Outside the bathroom shelves are provided for clothing and luggage storage allowing you to fully unpack and arrange all your personal items. Free parking is provided just outside the property and a key safe outside the door allows secure entry and exit at any time. French windows open out onto the beautiful sun terrace with access to the plunge pool. For maximum comfort the studio has reverse cycle air conditioning as well as under floor heating in the colder months.

Kate and Adrian used to own a small hotel in the south of France for 13 years up until 2025 and so are well versed in hospitality and used to making guests feel at home. Prior to their hotel business, Kate was trained as a chef and worked in catering and private dining as a vegetarian chef. Previously she also worked in the hospitality industry in France, and had her own antiques business. Her hobbies include cooking and art and design. Adrian has travelled extensively, working in Africa in international development as well as in business, but in later years turned his hand to documentary filmmaking and academia where he obtained a PhD in visual anthropology in Australia. He has always had a love remote wild places, including 2 years spent in the Kalahari, and still enjoys mountain biking and trail running in the wilds around Jimena. Adrian and Kate both enjoy hiking and horse-riding around Jimena and can provide information on routes.

The studio is ideally situated especially for those who like to walk to points of interest. The path down to the Hozgarganta River is literally metres away and access to the fabulous El Risco viewpoints is within two minutes walk, making this a great base for hikers, lovers of nature and adventurers keen on wild swimming or Via Ferrara. Jimena Castle is also just a 5 minute walk to the end of Calle La Loba from where you can also get a good view of Gibraltar and across to the mountains of Morocco. The studio is also very conveniently situated with a supermarket almost next door and just a short walk from Jimena's bars and restaurants. Further afield, there is easy access to the Mediterranean coast or if you want to drive a little further, to Tarifa and beyond to the unspoilt beaches of the Atlantic. There are many other beautiful pueblo blancos to explore in the area, including the picturesque village of Gaucin, 20 minutes into the mountains, with its magnificent views. The tourist mecca of Ronda with its famed bridge over the gorge is also just 80 minutes drive through stunning landscapes.
