Wonderful hotel close to the city, but it feels like it is somewhere deep in the forest, quiet and peaceful. It's on the shor e of small lake with incredible views. For families with kids, there is an amazing playroom, kept our toddler entertained. Breakfast is tasty and served on a 2nd floor with a lake view. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful vacation.

Hotel is located in a wooded area near a lake. The Sauna and lake plunge was absolutely perfect! Staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to use the washer and dryer to catch up on several days of travel. Everything is sparkling clean. Our room had a peaceful lake view. Would love to come an spend several days just relaxing.

I have visited Helsinki a couple of times in the past and...

I have visited Helsinki a couple of times in the past and chose to stay nearer, but not in, the city centre. I deliberately chose this location as a peaceful alternative. And I loved it. I had access to a car which made it easier to get around but the tram station is not far way giving easy access to the rest of the city.

Go south to see the magnificent sea, there is a magnificent 20 km Rantaraitti road by the sea. You can walk, run and cycle there. The road is illuminated and really safe to move around, because the richest residents of Finland live next to the road. For example, the directors of listed companies with their families and residents of embassies. I have also lived there myself. The Helsinki metro runs through Espoo, and bus services are also very good. Tapiola is the cultural centre of Espoo, e.g. theatre, music. Also EMMA Museum of Modern Art. Sello in Leppävaara and Iso Omena in Matinkylä are great shopping centres.

We stayed in Espoo for one night,then stayed four in Helsinki. It was the best way of enjoying the snow (being Irish it is a novelty )and enjoying the peaceful forest surrounding the hotel. It was a great start to our christmas break before going into the city. It was magical and I did a morning hike around the grounds of the hotel. My sons and I loved it.

Espoo is the most prosperous and safest area in Finland. The reason for that is that 40% of Espoo's population has a university degree. The best area of the city is by the sea in the middle of nature.

My son said this hotel was the very definition of coziness. The staff were very friendly, talkative, and helpful. There was a big group having an event the day we were there and we had a fantastic dinner with the same menu as them. The room was simple but tasteful with a balcony facing the beautiful snowy landscape and a sweet forest aroma, and what a comfy bed! The next morning: great breakfast! The lodge is located in the natural park and easily accessible from Helsinki. We loved our stay and surely come back the next winter.

The apartment was great for one person. The location is excellent - very near the train station, which can take you to the centre of Helsinki in about half an hour. There is a mall and many supermarkets just across the street, which is very convenient. The hosts are very helpful and kind! If I happen to go back to Helsinki/Espoo, I'll surely consider staying here again.

We made a booking last minute. The personal met us and already was waiting for us. The staff was super friendly and helpfull, helped me to solve some questions related to our stay in Finland. The breakfast is very good, the best breakfast I had for the past half a year in the hotel. A bif variety of healthy food, as well as lactose and gluten free meals.

The breakfast at the hotel is really delicious, there is a wide range of food. The location is very good, from Helsinki it is possible to get there by bus, from the hotel you can reach many beautiful lakes by bike. Directly at the hotel there is a local bike rental point.

This is my favorite hotel in Espoo. Whenever i have late night flight back to Finland, or feel to have alone time, i always stay in Hotel Matts. The room is super quiet, the staff is super friendly, the bed is comfortable. I can always have very good rest.
