Lovely hostess who very kindly dried our soaking shoes overnight as we were walking south coast path and got caught in a crazy downpour. She saved us as walking 20 km the next day in wet shoes would have been a disaster!

So many things for kids to do, grounds and hotel itself were really nice and the view was awesome :) rooms were great and it was evident that they had really thought about families and what they need. Food in the hotel was nice too!

The property was decorated beautifully and was exceptionally clean. The location was brilliant with very short drives to some lovely beaches and great walks for the dogs on its doorsteps. It was so quiet and the views from the accommodation were lovely. The host was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning

The second pub was closed due to a fire but open again soon.

The second pub was closed due to a fire but open again soon. The village has quite a lot of B&Bs so another evening eating place would help. There are several interesting places to visit in the village. Parking is a little difficult as the roads are narrow in this lovely old village.

Swannery worth a visit. I held a 1 day old cygnet.

Swannery worth a visit. I held a 1 day old cygnet. Village has old church, old Abbey on a hill on way to beach walk. Good pub with well cooked food. It’s very quaint with lovely old houses and tea rooms. Definitely worth a visit. Can be used as base for walkers. West Bay and Bridport close.

A typical Dorset Village ideally suited for visits to the Sub tropical Gardens, the Swannery, Weymouth, Chesil Beach and the Jurassic Coast. If you walk the Streets of the Village after dark ensure you have a torch, no street lights!

Pretty little village.

Pretty little village. We visited the sub tropical gardens which are beautiful (we've been several times and always enjoy them) and the Swannery. We purchased the combined ticket in advance which is excellent value for money. There are two pubs in the village, both do decent good value food. We've walked up to the little chapel on the hill, and found amazing views, especially at sunset, stunning. Two to three days are perfect for a stay in this lovely village.

I used to live here, it is a proper village with a community, not just a 'chocolate box' village. Sometimes the traffic going through it is very heavy and it is difficult to park so it is best if visitors use the car parks that are out of the centre. It is beautiful and picturesque with plenty of sights to see and places to eat.

Amazing place to stay.

Amazing place to stay. The history of Abbotsbury is amazing and the village is stunning.. The Swannery is a must place to visit. The beahes all around the Dorset Coast are spectacular ( Chessil Beach is a must ). Stunning place to stroll around. A week is not long enough to see everything in and around the area. A couple of nice pubs in the village to eat and relax. The locals are really friendly and will give any advice you need on places to visit and do. Fantastic walks, Fabulous countryside, Amazing views, Weymouth is not too far and well worth a visit, Supermarkets are easy to get to but you need a car. Try their local baked bread ! Amazing ! Love this place and always will !
