Fantastic stay. Friendly staff especially the lovely lady looking after us for breakfast and dinner. Also the lady tending bar Saturday evening. Superb food and very good value. Will definitely try to come back.

Everything exceeded our expectations. These guys clearly sweat the details. To start, we arrived very late in the evening, and they kept the kitchen open to cook us dinner. The pub is an absolute gem. A genuine country pub with locals playing darts, but decorated to a standard that Londoners would love. Food was amazing. Room was amazing. Attention to detail around every corner. Dyson hair dryer in the room. Artisinal locally made chocolates waiting for us. Mini bar full of artisinal locally crafted liquors. Wireless charging mats for our phones next to the bed. Artisinal locally made cheese with the continental breakfast (some of the best cheese I've ever tasted). Friendly staff who were happy to tell us the history of the pub. Absolute hidden gem that would probably cost 400 quid a night in London. Highly recommended!

Very clean accommodation and the beds were really comfortable and bathroom appliances top notch. Pierce was so helpful and everything was at hand to have a delightful breakfast. For me the location was perfect, quiet and tranquil. I would definitely stay again.

We ate in the two pubs in the village and then there is the...

We ate in the two pubs in the village and then there is the Grumpy Goat to walk to. No shops that we found. There is a post office but that was closed. As dairy free, non meat eaters there was not a lot of choice but the Six Bells offered a good evening meal.

Not any bad things I can say.

Not any bad things I can say. If there was one thing maybe you could get a small snack if you arrive lunch time. But that isn't a criticism had are dinner at six bells was great food and a lovely breakfast. We stayed over on away to our holiday.

Bardwell is a medium sized village completely surrounded by open countryside with an interesting church and old houses. It is well placed to reach the well known coastal spots such as Aldeburgh and Southwold as well as towns such as Cambridge Ely and Norwich and just a few miles from Bury St Edmunds (such an amazingly interesting place) and Newmarket, The food at the Six Bells in Bardwell was excellently prepared and presented - well worth a visit as it has a broad standard menu with specials certainly at weekends. The only problem was travelling on the M11 on a Bank Holiday - horrendous !!!!

The staff are really friendly and the food is amazing.

The staff are really friendly and the food is amazing. Lovely atmosphere and very peaceful. The place wasn’t too busy. The only issue we had was the cleanliness wasn’t great, the bathroom was not clean. However there was nothing that I couldn’t deal with and I’m sure if I had raised the matter with the staff they would’ve rectified it.

Breakfast and evening meal was very good. Value for money. Our room was small but perfect for our needs , bathroom was small but suited our needs too . All clean , and comfortable , good nights sleep. Pretty village , Bardwell, we walked to has a windmill and a bakery, another pub , post office and a church. We will return. Staff at the six bells couldn’t be more pleasant or helpful.

The staff we met, the Thai wife of the son of the owner and the young woman who served us dinner, were very friendly and helpful, as well as efficient. The food was good: quality ingredients, well cooked ( we had breakfast and just one dinner). The inn is very attractive, with historic features, and the surrounding gardens very pretty. We liked the location out in the countryside in the picturesque village of Bardwell.

This is a delightful inn, in the beautiful village of Bardwell. Something a bit different. Staff and people in the village, so lovely and helpful. Beds very comfy and rooms very clean and tidy. The food was excellent and it was good value for money. Would definitely stay again.
