Everything, rooms were separate to the pub at ground level and you could park outside. Room was a nice size, clean and a comfy bed and when we got the radiator thermostat sorted it was warm on a chilly night. Bathroom facilities were good.

Cosy and warm little lodge with beautiful surrounding areas. Extremely clean and had everything we needed! The hosts absolutely made our experience- we stayed Christmas Eve and they popped round to give us a bottle of prosecco, chocolates and a Christmas card! Such a lovely gesture we will 100% be back!

We loved our cozy lodge. It exceeded our expectations. It had a comfy living room and the beds were great! The free English breakfast was one of the best I ever had. We would definitely stay here again and for more time.

What Guests Said About Bishop Wilton:

Scored out of 10, guest rating 10

Friendly local people. Community shop.

Friendly local people. Community shop. Plenty of rural walks or access by bus to nearby Pocklington town. The Fleece Pub provides excellent, tasty meals of a high standard in Bishop Wilton. Walking to the top of the Wolds (high hills) is worth doing for the view. Cycling the rural lanes is pleasant with a few inclines and descents that can take you into other nearby villages to explore.

Pretty countryside need a decent car as farm tracks and post holes, we had a 4X4 so where ok. Village shop open very limited time. Pub had shut ? New owners moving in. Nothing else around until you get to Pockelton town, pubs only do food till 6 pm shut Mondays and some also on Tuesdays . there are other restaurants but no dogs allowed. Take aways and supermarket . Would have to travel back to York for more eating venues .

Buses to other locations. Great cycling area. Pretty scenery. Shop, pub and village hall with events. Friendly local people with advice about locality. Super village walks.Food at the Fleece is excellent cuisine. Great beers too. A beautiful black and white mosaic floor in the church based on a copied design in the Vatican in Rome. Stunning and unique floor showing many bird pictures. The hilly Wolds around the village are beautiful and invite walks up and down the locality. Roman, Viking and Anglo Saxon settlements have been evidenced in this area.

Bishop Wilton is a quiet, small picturesque village in the North Yorkshire Wolds with pretty cottages built on both sides of a stram which runs through it.The Fleece Inn has good food and drink and the hosts are very welcoming. The comminity shop in the village is run by volunteers and is well stocked with food stuffs, gifts and also has a cafe. The area is ideal for walkers and people who love the countryside but is also lovely for touring about the Wolds by car as there are many villages off the beaten track to investigate and the main place nearby is Pocklington which has more shops, cafe's and pubs.
