Bridport is away from the bucket and spade brigade but close enough to lots of places in the area - Burton Bradstock, West Bay, Lyme Regis. Bridport is well supplied with supermarkets, pubs, eateries etc. Good bus service to Lyme Regis and Weymouth so you can avoid parking nightmares.

A lovely town and area with nice local shingle beaches at Hive Beach and West Bay. Plenty of well known shops and independent restaurants in Bridport town centre. Hive Beach is a National Trust "property" so if you are a member you park for free - otherwise its about £4 for a couple of hours parking, scaling up. There is a lovely café/takeaway hatch serving a local fish menu, breakfast and other snacks and refreshments. West Bay is a lovely coastal town with a marina, pier, and beach. There are some nice gift shops and fish and chip shops for the traditional fish and chips by the seaside. Lots of walking opportunities on the coastal paths, if that is something of interest.

Fabulous part of the country! So beautiful. Visited Lyme Regis....good, glad not in high holiday time. Walked 10 miles of the coast path and that was spectacular....highly recommend. Fantastic views, such interesting geology, fossils, colours..... we were lucky to have glorious weather which always makes everything so much better!

Bridport is a friendly town with amazing shops; unusual shops with character. The town has many interesting buildings from its industrial past and nice friendly Pubs. There is a very good Thai take away, 'Kin Klans' probably the best Thai food in the South West! The theatre/cinema - Bridport Electric Palace is wonderful!

Great location for Bridport town, just at top of high street. 2 minutes walk . The staff were some of the friendliest I’ve gone across, nothing was too much trouble 👍 The rooms were comfortable and clean and the bag of fudge and biscuits was a lovely touch 🙏 The sunny garden was perfect for a pre dinner drink & the walk along the river was a welcome sight.

Gorgeous cottage right in the centre of Bridport in easy walking distance for all facilities. Beautifully furnished and decorated it is the perfect spot for one or two people to stay while exploring the Jurassic Coast and Hardy's Dorset. I plan to stay again - hopefully at a time of the year when I can enjoy the secret garden at the back!
