The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Charles who shared liberally of his knowledge and good cheer (Including his wine training and a carrot joke). A regular patron of the bar befriended us which made us feel even more “at home”. The food was excellent - both breakfast and dinner. The room was modern, the bed quite comfortable. Despite being directly on the road out of (an admittedly small) town, the traffic noise was not bothersome. There were several interesting things to see and do in the immediate area.

We didn't pend a great deal of time in the village but went...

We didn't pend a great deal of time in the village but went for a walk and are aware it is a well kept village with a number of facilities available, but on this occasion our plans were to visit historic places of interest in the area which we greatly enjoyed. We were celebrating my wife Merle's eightieth birthday and our sixty first wedding anniversary so it was Merle's choice to use the time in the way we did which we really enjoyed.

The setting was in the middle of a small village, very quiet...

The setting was in the middle of a small village, very quiet and peaceful, however very close to nearby Holt and Sheringham, where we spent the following day on the heritage railway before heading home

Road turning into lane narrow, had a couple of local people...

Road turning into lane narrow, had a couple of local people shout at us as we tried to turn round. Parking for only one car at building rest have to be top of lane, hopefully there is space. Front leading to door could do with being sorted as I know there has been a lot of rain but it was very slippery underfoot as was muddy. Briston itself is just a small village but Holt very near great for getting train to Sherringham.

We didn't actually spend a lot of time in Briston etc, but...

We didn't actually spend a lot of time in Briston etc, but we did use a couple of local shops. The mini-market is friendly & well stocked, plus also has a Post Office where you can withdraw cash - quite a rarity in this part of the world now! Mike Rutland's well-known butcher's shop will keep you well fed, not the least his home-made haggis!

Briston is a small village in a rural setting.

Briston is a small village in a rural setting. Probably not somewhere you would want to holiday as there is not a lot going on there; however, it is located very close to the North Norfolk Coast (Cromer, Wells, Sheringham, etc) so is ideally suited to base yourself there and then travel around, which is what we did. Perfect location to visit and travel around North Norfolk. We had a lovely stay at the Three Horseshoes and would certainly go back there - great place to stay and staff very friendly and helpful.

Briston village itself wasn’t much but the Three Horse shoes...

Briston village itself wasn’t much but the Three Horse shoes was on the outskirts of the village . You would definitely need a car to reach the popular towns and places of interest in the area . The Three Horse shoes is a very attractive inn .
