We recently stayed at the China Fleet Club for five nights with our family in a two-bedroom flat, and it was absolutely brilliant. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, and the facilities were of outstanding quality. The beds were cozy, and the kitchen was impressively equipped with everything we needed—truly second to none. The location was perfect: peaceful, away from the town, yet easily accessible. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. The swimming pool was a highlight for our family, especially for our 8-year-old son, who enjoyed it every single night. My husband and I spent a couple of relaxing hours in the aqua spa, which was impeccably clean and well-maintained. All the essentials like shower gel, towels, and cold water were readily available, making it very convenient. Overall, our stay exceeded expectations, and I highly recommend China Fleet Club for a comfortable and enjoyable family getaway.

Steve and Toshi were amazing. Dinner was fabulous. Breakfast was the best I have ever had. They have a great chef! Thoroughly recommend the mushroom and truffle Arancini for a starter for dinner and the mushroom toast for breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable ! Loved it and Tavistock !

Calstock is a lovely little village and we really enjoyed exploring it. It’s easy to get around on foot and the train station is within walking distance, which was really handy. We had family in Plymouth, so we used the train a couple of times rather than driving. There’s also a free car park where you can leave the car. We ate at one of the local restaurants and the food was really good. The café was lovely too, especially the coffee, and there’s also a little ice cream parlour. It’s very dog friendly, with some lovely walks along the river and lots of birds and wildlife. There’s a really relaxed, friendly feel to Calstock. The Social Club had live music on while we were there and there are a couple of pubs and places to eat nearby. There’s plenty to do outdoors and the train makes it easy to explore other places nearby too. We’d definitely visit again.

Friendly village with surprising level of amenities. Food at The Boot Inn and the Lishe Cafe highly recommended! Recommend the walk round the river to Cotehele was lovely but good walking shoes or boots recommended.

Thriving village community with lots of amenities and a well supported social club along with two pubs, art gallery, hair salon, wellbeing centre, tea rooms, pasty shop, ice cream parlour & riverside walks. Also plenty to do on the water. Trains run to & from Plymouth/Gunnislake plus places of interest nearby. The viaduct is truly spectacular. Too much to do in a week & so close to Tavistock/Dartmoor

The cottage was beautiful, very cosy, and the bed was so comfy. It was so tranquil to wake up in the morning with a coffee and watch the ducks on the river. The location is perfect close to the local pubs and shops and also further afield to explore other places in Cornwall. Highly recommend this place. On arrival, the host had left us wine beer and snacks, which was welcomed after our long drive from Wales to help us unwind

Absolutely fabulous view out the main window of the impressive railway bridge (trains go so slow they do not disturb) Cotehele House (national Trust) the River Tamar and farmland opposite. Dont miss the homemade pasty shop in Calstock - legendary. Pizza van visits village once a week - not to be missed. Same for Daves Chippy in neighbouring village and Calstock village cafe.
