We loved it! The first room we stayed in was in the annex and was lovely, then on our return we stayed in a lovely room on the 3rd floor. Lots of steps, but worth the climb. The breakfast was amazing and we also enjoyed getting a drink in the pub, and delicious dinner. The portions were so large they were enough for 2. The staff was friendly and helpful,even providing us a take away breakfast when we needed to leave early. Walking distance to the Aysgarth Falls and a quick drive to Castle Bolton and to Hawes to visit the creamery.

Warm and Friendly Staff with a good atmosphere. Breakfast was a Full English, with a Cereal bar, juices and coffee. A generous meal. Our room was clean, recently renovated and comfortable. A nice place to stay, and great value.

Owners were very friendly and made you feel extremely welcome. The POD was spotless and soft furnishings are fab. Lovely touch with the shortbread, robes and slippers etc. Hot tub very clean and was warm and ready for us on our arrival. Great stay. Cannot wait to go again.

Carlton is a peaceful village with limited traffic.

Carlton is a peaceful village with limited traffic. The village is kept clean and has a maintained feel to it. There are numerous accessible footpaths around the village. There is a village pub, owned by Carlton residents, that is well presented, and serves high quality home made food in the evenings. Middlam and Leyburn are both easily accessible by car for shops, pubs, restaurants, and are a pleasure to visit, with easy parking.

Beautiful area, lovely place, gorgeous dinner and breakfast! What made this stay so special though was Diana the landlady, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and cared for, nothing was too much trouble. Diana’s attention to detail from extra room comforts to warm milk with coffee at breakfast made you feel like you were staying in a 5 star hotel! We were sorry we were only staying one night. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Carlton is a really nice village in a lovely location. The cottage was really attractive and overall very comfortable and really roomy. Hosts were really friendly and helpful. A large and attractive garden which guesrs are encouraged to share
