Absolutely love where this is situated, lots of amazing walks and very peaceful with picturesque views. The staff are amazing too every time, first time we have met Miles, such a lovely man. They also do outstanding stone baked based pizzas.

Eskdale is a quiet and picturesque location with narrow...

Eskdale is a quiet and picturesque location with narrow winding roads. There are limited facilities but the village of Eskdale Green does have a small shop for essentials. The surrounding hills are great for walking. It is a great base to access Wasdale and some fantastic walks, Scafell Pike, Scafell, Great Gable, Red Pike and many more.

The location, food and staff were fantastic.

The location, food and staff were fantastic. Every meal that was cooked tasted amazing. The room door rattled at night when other people were coming to bed late, there wasn’t enough toilet roll in the bathroom for our 5 day stay BUT when asked for extra it was provided. If you stay in room 2 try and find something that can jam the door with to stop it rattling

Beautiful part of Cumbria definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful part of Cumbria definitely worth a visit. Ravenglass railway a must if you have young children and also Muncaster Castle. For walkers you have the best of both worlds , mountains and coastal.

Lovely area, don't expect lots of excitement, but it's great...

Lovely area, don't expect lots of excitement, but it's great for nature lovers! All inns offer food and it's of great quality - very tasty and at good price overall. Beware, you'll need good boots and clothes to walk around, the road is used by lots of cars, so pay attention to that. You will need a car to get farther than the nature walks - e.g. Eskadale proper or a city. I recommend it for reconnecting with nature and with your significant other. It also works for tiring children and dogs out as well. Good for lots of exercise, but not for slimming (see the food part above).

Stayed for the 2 nights, fantastic location for what we had planned, lovely little village restaurant/hotel, the food was very good to and reasonable priced also. The room we stayed in was more than adequate for what we needed and had all the facilities you'd needed, would definitely stay again when we plan our next trip to the lakes.

The location is fantastic: overlooking the Eskdale Railway. It’s a beautiful old house with gorgeous reception rooms! If I’d wanted to cook, the communal kitchen had everything I’d need.
