Unique, gorgeous decor, and fantastic staff. Not just another cookie cutter hotel. We wished we had booked a longer stay as we never had a chance to soak in the claw foot tub. Jim is a wonderful and interesting host and the room was gorgeous. Breakfast was made to order and very generous in portions. We took a walk from the beach to the fairy pools in the morning and had a great day.

Wonderful spot incredible view huge kitchen nice livingroom…. more than I needed, but for all it provided, it was a great value. Little basket of sweet treats from the local bakery was nice and of course, the carton of milk.

Truly a special place. One of a kind. It was intimate and quiet and suited us perfectly. The dining was fantastic, both for a special dinner and the included breakfast. We took advantage of the e-bikes as well. A memorable experience.

The rooms were very large and the beds so comfortable. They had fans, mini fridge, and even robes in the bathroom. Everything was so nice and clean! The breakfast was large and they cooked to order too! The dinner was probably the best we had on our trip and the cost was so much cheaper than other places we went. They have the cutest bar with the friendliest bar tender that made us feel so at home. We would definitely stay here again!

Awesome place to watch\photograph dolphins!

Awesome place to watch\photograph dolphins! They are most active on sunny days apparently, so watch out for that. Also get good shoes for the stony beach. Town itself is small but idyllic and safe. The one (maybe 2?) supermarket has everything you need for sustaining a week or two.

Lovely little village with lots to see.

Lovely little village with lots to see. Great little bakery, fantastic little butcher shop. A lovely restaurant and some other gift and handmade jewellery shops. The Cathedral a must see. Wonderful views onto the water with lots of benches to rest and enjoy the views.

What a beautiful part of Scotland!

What a beautiful part of Scotland! It was both relaxing and peaceful. There were different things you could do and fantastic places to eat and grab a drink. The dolphin watching was also very fun and different. Crofter’s was one of our favorite food places. Everyone we met were friendly and helpful.

Fortrose is a beautiful village with historic buildings and the main attraction is the opportunity to spot dolphins at Chanonry Point. There are pubs and restaurants as well as the beach at Rosemarkie within walking distance of the village.

Steven and Fiona make you feel very welcome and have a wealth of knowledge about the area. The location is fantastic, making you feel like you are deep in the middle of the countryside when in actual fact Fortrose town is just 5 mins down the hill. Their lovable Jack Russell dog Broxy is really friendly and the rooms are very cosy and spotlessly clean. We would stay in Hillhaven, when visiting the area again, for sure!

Applegrove is a lot more spacious than the listing suggests. It was warm, clean, quiet and comfortable. Excellent location for Fortrose shops and rest of Black Isle. Garden is a nice bonus. Owners responsive and helpful.
