Very nice place to stay, friendly & helpful staff, nice room, food was great and lots of it too which was perfect after a big walk in the hills. The open fire in the bar / dining area made it warm and cosy and our room was nice and warm too with heating that we could control. Parking was free in the market place nearby. I'd already read the good reviews before coming, so wasn't surprised it was good!

Excellent value, dog friendly and really nice folks. Breakfast was great and the location was right in the heart of Hawes. We managed to get free parking too, probably not so easy come summer 😁

The breakfast girls was very nice and was very welcoming, as it was are first time staying there we didn’t know where things was as nothing was said about breakfast, the other young girl behind the bar was very rude and made you feel unwelcome with no smile and was not helpful at all. The room was lovely

We were surprised that we had to pay to go to the Falls -...

We were surprised that we had to pay to go to the Falls - but it was money well spent as the paths are well maintained and it is simply lovely! Our perfect day then had us walk to Simonstone Hall where lunch with the hens and peacocks and a stunning view was excellent. We were within easy walking distance of Hawes, which disappointed a little except for the Dales Museum - and the walk itself.

The whole trip was fantastic!

The whole trip was fantastic! We chose to stay here as part of our all creatures great and small experience. So glad we did as everything about this place was fantastic! We even had snow! We have stayed in many pubs over the years but this place topped the lot! The waterfall is a must ! Brilliant place to stay !

Good: WiFi works, beds are comfortable, bathroom clean and functional. Bad: Pretentious coffee making available in room. Bring your own instant and decaff if you need. Bring your own mug if you want a decent sized one. Suites above the pub smell strongly of fire smoke and fried burgers.

Hardraw is lovely the the waterfall is a really nice little...

Hardraw is lovely the the waterfall is a really nice little walk. Hawes is an easy stroll. We liked "The Fountain" in Hawes for food and the Nation Park Centre in Hawes is great for finding out what's in the area.

The location was lovely with the falls being so close.

The location was lovely with the falls being so close. The hotel, to be fair, was lovely. The rooms were spacious but had the odd problem. One hadn't been hoovered, and needed it and another had no power to the fridge or kettle area, so they didn't work. The bar was busy and very friendly and atmospheric. It had very much been preserved as a pub in contrast to the luxury accommodation. I think the underlying cause of our problems was lack of staff. Those that were there did the best they could, but there simply weren't enough to manage everything.
