Try the castle, the museum and the shops and churches.

Try the castle, the museum and the shops and churches. Hertford is very compact and very quaint. The canal is very picturesque and four rivers flow through Hertford. MacMullen's brewery is also worth a visit - you have to ring an old-fashioned handbell outside the brewery shop for service.

make sure you ask for the newer rooms as the old ones are...

make sure you ask for the newer rooms as the old ones are not nice in anyway would not stay again unless I got one of the more modernised rooms like last visit, did not know there was such a difference in rooms or would not have stayed there.

A historic town with many scenic walks, a good vibe and...

A historic town with many scenic walks, a good vibe and welcoming feel. Lots of places to eat and drink. We enjoyed our stay. The castle and gardens are free. There are a number of historic churches - St Leonard’s being very ancient Saxon/Norman. The town flat and full of rivers - with some pretty river walks. Pangshanger reserve was really well presented and quite accessible.

The hotel is a great place just right for everyday travelers expectations. Clean and comfortable. The atmosphere of welcoming guests is refreshing and welcoming. Communications are great and effective in many ways. Meet disabled friendly guests in a relaxed manner.

Excellent location and accommodation, friendly owner...

Excellent location and accommodation, friendly owner ensuring we were happy with the accommodation and WiFi and games room available. The accommodation was very clean and homely, access to free Netflix and very warm throughout. If in area we would return, excellent for the price.

It's full of great restaurants and pubs/bars.

It's full of great restaurants and pubs/bars. There's an excellent theatre/cinema called Beam. It's situated on three rivers and on the old coaching route between London and Cambridge so the environment and architecture are beautiful and historic so well worth exploring. There's even a castle where Elizabeth I visited. Plus a great leisure centre and Hartham Park. If you like nightlife - that's also great with clubs, bars, a Pool club and friendly pubs.
