The Staff Team are absolutely amazing. Nothing was any trouble. They made us feel welcome and relaxed from the moment we checked in. They gave particular attention to our little dog... Which she loved. The location is perfect for exploring Hungerford or the beautiful Download countryside. The hotel has everything you would need for a little break away. The cosy rooms are spotlessly clean and with good facilities.

We were met by the host who was very friendly and made us feel really welcome. The location is lovely, the room is spacious and well equipped with very nice views and a really comfortable bed. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast in the morning.

For a continental spread, laid out in the room the night before, the breakfast was exceptional. Light, flaky croissants, ice cold real milk and orange juice in the fridge and top notch yoghurts. The room was clean, comfortable and cosy without being cramped. The only downside is the proximity to the road, but even that didn't warrant the supplied ear plugs (in our case). We had a very enjoyable meal and several delicious pints as well. Highly recommended!

The flat was within easy walking distance for all Hungerford...

The flat was within easy walking distance for all Hungerford has to offer. There are several pubs. Down Gate was my choice of them, but the French restaurant, The Fungi Club, was my favourite eating place. The Tutti Pole sells excellent soft service ice creams, and Tescos and Morrisions are within easy walking distance of the flat The Hungerford Arcade is an incredible collection of antique and collectable shops all under the one roof and has a coffee shop in the attic. There are Public Footpaths that make walking in Nature so enjoyable. They take you over the common, along the canal, out through Freemans Marsh, to mention just a few.

Hungerford was probably one of my favorite places in touring...

Hungerford was probably one of my favorite places in touring England Scotland and Wales. I loved the small town with shops, restaurants, grocery store, and canal walk. We were just a short drive to other locations we visited. And it wasn't filled with a bunch of tourists. We ate at a few of the restaurants- all fantastic. The canal walk was lovely.

An array of antique and vintage shops beside beutiful canal and river walks. The Croft has a lovely village feel from times gone by where we visited a fete with one of the best cream teas I have had. Just fabulous.

It would have been helpful for the restaurant to have sent...

It would have been helpful for the restaurant to have sent the account to reception for checkout. We asked if there was anything left to pay and were told it was settled via booking.com. Perhaps if we had been asked for a credit card at check-in rather then we would not have been chased for payment of the meal some days later. Despite this - the food and hotel stay were great

Nice quaint market town, better than I expected.

Nice quaint market town, better than I expected. Nice shops and cafes. It was a very hot day so we didn't do much like walking along the river/canal. For lunch we popped in Eliane's , recommended by friends which was delicious. Then popped Tutti Pole for cuppa only. Cakes and ice cream were tempting!

Hungerford has quite a few antique type shops, a few clothes...

Hungerford has quite a few antique type shops, a few clothes shops, charity shops and a number of pubs. There is a canal within walking distance with canal path to the next village which is about 3.5 miles and takes about 1 1/2hrs. Hungerford station is in the middle of the town and a 2 minute walk to the hotel.

A perfect stay in this beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location walking distance ti Hungerford. We were made to feel very welcome and our dogs who enjoyed their stay too. Lots of generous extras were very appreciated.
