The option, "It was too short - I could have stayed a day longer" is not given but this is how I felt. A great staging post location for the Eurotunnel - 15 minutes away. It looked to be an interesting place for a short stay. "The Butt of Sherry" restaurant was well worth our evening visit there.

A really delightful little town with a bustling (car-free) high street, packed with independent shops and restaurants. The Military canal is beautiful (so much nicer than the word "canal" usually conjures up) with lovely over-hanging trees and lots of benches for just sitting and chilling. The tree-lined cut through via "Ladies Walk" from the beachfront to the canal and over the bridge into the High Street was really nice and only took about 20 minutes. We ate at Azzur Italian restaurant on our first evening, which we had booked in advance and was very nice. Just as well, as although it was a Wednesday evening, it was packed when we got there and wouldn't have got a table. We also ate at The Sunshine Mezze/BBQ Turkish restaurant on the Saturday evening. I had booked this the night before over the phone, so was a bit disappointed when we got there, that they had obviously over-booked. Especially as it was only 7pm, so still quite early. I got the impression that there had been several walk-ins who hadn't been turned away, even though they were obviously fully booked. The meal, when it eventually arrived, was very good, but again it took forever to get the bill, as the staff were so over-stretched and it all looked a bit disorganised. I would certainly recommend the food, but try to go during the week, would be my advice - and go early! We had chosen Hythe to stay as we had a booking for Port Lympne. Very convenient for there and also buses into Canterbury.

We absolutely love Hythe, with lovely walks on the beach front and along the canal, we also enjoy the town with its quaint shops/coffee shops and charity shops. Also, plenty of eating and drinking places too choose from, a lovely little town for a quiet get away.

Old fashioned, High Street with wide variety of shops to browse. Good pub/restaurant - The Red Lion Well worth a trip on RHDRailway though staton is a short car drive away (walking just too far) - 1 hour to Dungeness. Interesting parks with the Military Canal a good walk.

My wife had just lost her mum to heart failure so I thought a nice quiet break away would help the pain, but sadly we were not made aware of any musical functions other than the spa or golf facilities. I had requested a top floor room which was given but I also requested by phone a quiet and peaceful area ,however, our first night was great but the second was filled with a loud musical tribute act and management only offered a room change without guaranteed quiet, this we found not acceptable and they would not even offer a refund for the following mornings breakfasts that we didn’t have .Returned home very unhappy and upset that the original plan became a nightmare.

We have been visiting Hythe for years but first time we have stayed It is easy to get around with nice walks beside the canal and around the golf course. Plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from . We like truly Scrumptious for morning coffee. Pubs vary in style and the two we visited in Hythe had widely different costs. Needless to say we will not be returning to the Hope Inn as £6.80 for a lager is to my mind extortion, sorry. We wish we were a young couple , maybe in mind but not in ages, we have been married over 50 years . We ate in the Indian Ocean restaurant and nice cafe can’t remember the name. Good bus service so went to Folkestone one day and drove to Dover castle on another. So lots to do in and around

I use this hotel every month for my convenience. The location is superb, plenty of free parking, easy walking distance to locsl pubs/restaurants. The staff are fantastic. The rooms are basic, but very clean and tidy. There is also an Indian restaurant on site. No breakfast available but plenty of options in Hythe.
