This is our 2nd stay here, just as good. Staff are great, food was very good. Room was very clean and comfortable, lovely decor and furnishings. Very dog friendly and exceptional value for money breakfast. We have stayed in 8 hotels in 8 days and this one was the best overall and value for money.

Lovely place to stay - actually the best place we stayed in the UK over our stay of 3 weeks . Spacious , clean and comfortable. It was quiet and the host was very friendly and kind . We felt very welcome. There was meticulously attention to detail and we only wished we could have stayed longer .

Fantastic flat near town centre amenities. We only live locally but used as stopover when attending a gig at Brewery Arts which is short walk away, as are the towns bars and restaurants. Decor is stylish and modern, but cosy and fittings are to a high standard. Easy check in/out and helpful owners. Highly recommend:)

The Stonecross Manor is 'out in the sticks' in terms of the town itself - a nice 'suburban' location. Lots of parking at rear and some in front. Room was ok with the basics provided eg tea and coffee with kettle. En-suite facilities adequate but a bit tight - not able to sit straight on the WC due to radiator fitted to the wall. It had a 'not quite fully organised' feel about it - not in a bad way just that they hadn't got it all together quite yet. Breakfast good and fairly basic continental with a full English (black pudding cut on a bacon slicer.) Had budgeted for the wrong price and got a wee surprise as we had not noticed the cost was exVAT. (two less coffees for the onward journey)

Kendal is a nice place to visit. It has goog across from the motorway and to the Lake District. There is always something going on. It’s not far either from the Yorkshire Dales. There are many places to stop and watch the world go by.

Kendal itself is not particularly interesting but the surrounding Lake District is superb. The only fish and Chip sit in restaurant in Kendal town centre open in the evening we went (Monday) was superb. The small size meal was quite big and excellent value at £11.

the river Kent is beautiful and there are river walks and cafes, Kendal is the gateway to the Lakes and next time I would go further into the Lakes to see the stunning scenery, however it is only approx 9 miles from Bowness on Windermere which is very pretty

Nice friendly snd helpful local people.

Nice friendly snd helpful local people. The town was fine offering everything we needed. It is a great base for exploring. For those who don't want the hassle of driving everywhere in the Lake District (and paying for the pleasure of parking), there is a train station and the local bus services seem to go to all of the tourist destinations - and beyond! Good views from Kendal Castle and not far away is the National Trust's Sizebergh Castle - a lovely place to visit and relax with a great cafe offering plenty of cake and a very nice creamy hot chocolate!.

Mid week 2 night stay, cosy little house right in the centre of kendal, great location to walk down the river and nice walk to kendal castle. The host was very helpful and easy to contact if needed. They left the travel cot and high chair out for us. Heating worked well was lovely and warm. Nice comfy sofa and plenty of board games! Only a small fridge n freezer which was fine for us for a couple of days. No garden but large grass area just over the road to take dogs on.

Gorgeous views Very close to town - round back of booths Ice box in the fridge Well equipped with all toiletries and kitchen ware, the mint cake was a lovely touch Upgrading from my usual budget due to what was available in Kendal during pride weekend was a lovely treat and this was very good value from the options when I booked
