We visit Kirkbymoorside about four times a year.

We visit Kirkbymoorside about four times a year. It has good facilities, including an excellent Co-Op. The Gabble and Bean Cafe, which we visited for the first time, is very good and serves excellent meals and cakes. Also find time to look round the lovely church.

If you're looking for the ideal place to visit the North...

If you're looking for the ideal place to visit the North Yorkshire countryside, this is it. A cozy room held by an exceptional host in the middle of farmland, a walkable distance away from the nearest pubs (30 mins) and pretty close to all of the main spots, from Castle Howard to Riveaulx Abbey and Whitby (all within a 1-hour drive). Can't recommend this place enough !

This was a pretty town with good amenities and a wealth of historic buildings. There were plenty of places to eat and drink and quite a lot of interesting shops. Also old pubs/hotels. We liked it it a lot. It had a lot of character. Note that the main street rises quite steeply the further you go along it. We did not use any public transport.

Kirbymoorside is a traditional yorkshire town that appears to be popular for walkers. Beautiful scenery around and is near to other similar towns. Lots of cafes and eateries, not too far from coastal places like Whitby. Daffodils were out everywhere when we were travelling place to place. Loved it!

Nothing could have been improved.

Nothing could have been improved. This is an amazing place and the owner is fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she goes well above and beyond with absolutely top notch service. The room and lounge were breathtaking and the breakfast was absolutely amazing!! Can't praise this highly enough. Go there! You will want to stay for ever!!!

If you're in a car you have easy access to local yorkshire...

If you're in a car you have easy access to local yorkshire tourist spots within a 10 to 50 minute drive such as Whitby, Helmsley and Scarborough. However, if you're not in a car then you need to consider taking food, drinks or snacks with you. We didnt get into town itself but accessed the local coop and takeaway. We were provided with a list of recommended places to eat out. Theres countryside on your doorstep, so ideal for those who like to walk and explore. There were some lovely little villages on route to Whitby via Blakey Road that are worth stopping off for a coffee and cake or a bite to eat.
