Location was remote but lovely views. Sheep and farm animals nearby. Very clean and more or less everything you needed. Only thing to feedback would possibly be a fan needed in hot weather due to reluctance to open windows during midgy season. Nice to chat to Rachel and husband on arrival.

We have stayed in Lairg a few times now, and this was the best property we have used. Lairg is very central for us to use as a base to travel the Highlands, it has all you will need, it's peaceful, has great views and has plenty of walks from the village

We had never visited this part of Scotkand before. The accommodation was brilliant. The hosts couldn't do enough for us. It was so comfortable and relaxing. We found plenty to done and see. What an experience. The scenery was amazing.

The Pier has a wonderful menu and gorgeous freshly prepared food. Book ahead if you can. The wee shop/post office next door to The Pier has a wide range of stock. Lairg is a good base for exploring Sutherland.

Lairg is just a beautiful quiet place, extremely helpful kind people. Surrounding areas offering lovely food, and fantastic place close to so many amazing places. Regardless of the weather it’s our little piece of heaven.

Out of season (which appears to end in October), Lochinver...

Out of season (which appears to end in October), Lochinver largely shuts down, so there is a limited amount to do, while places to eat out close or have reduced opening, though Peet's restaurant remains open (except Wednesdays). Conversely, if solitude is preferred, this is probably the time to visit, when it is much quieter. The scenery in the area is spectacular, if bleak, but there are plenty of walks of all levels of difficulty.

We only went to Lairg because of the lack of affordable accommodation once north of Inverell (probably due to the over promotion of the SC500)Turned south and had a lovely time in south Scotland instead.

Really nice hotel, great staff and food. Not the most convenient location but the surroundings were really beautiful. We used this as a base to visit Handa island (about an hour away), climb Ben Hope (about 30 mins away) and visit Torrisdale Bay (about 30-40 mins away), I would recommend all of these places to visit. I'll definitely come back to stay in the future.

Behind the front door is a modern apartment. At the Spar supermarket with very friendly staff, you can easily take care for yourself. You can park your car close to the outside wall of the apartment. There is only one restaurant in village center. All other restaurants in Lairg are permanently closed. From Lairg you can discover the north of Scotland.

Lairg is very small but the apartment is on the water front. It has all you need to cook and there is a small shop in the village. We were also able to buy food on the way. Apartment is large, comfortable and relaxing. Lovely views.
