United KingdomReally lovely stone built hotel with an old charm about it. Very welcoming host. Room was large and beds were very comfortable. Spotlessly clean too. Lovely breakfast with everything you could need. We only stayed one night while traveling south but it was a great stop off point. Wishing the hosts all the best in their new venture.

The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The food was good quality and very tasty. The proprietors of the hotel had fantastic friendly customer relations with everything. My experienced stay at the Douglas Hotel was very comfortable. I would like to thank all staff for their hospitality, especially Jason the proprietor of the Douglas hotel for his very friendly and upmost caring and excellent customer service.

We wanted to spend New Year in Scotland as our daughter and...
We wanted to spend New Year in Scotland as our daughter and family are moving to Australia in spring. Langholm may only "just" be over the border but we enjoyed (two) pipers at mid night and a marching silver band the following morning.
The rivers flowing through the town were high as a result of recent rain and were an attraction for our grandson who took to collecting some stones to take away.
The High St has a number of local shops, a Londis food shop and the Coop supermarket is about a 10 minute walk south of the house.

A lovely area which provides some lovely walks of varying lengths (downloadable from the Langholm Walks website) and some interesting history. It is a quiet and peaceful and can be used as a base to visit attractions further afield.

Excellent location, right in the centre of Langholm. Great communication with the host and she kindly let us in early to leave our bags before we met with friends.
Lovely little touches like, bread, milk, crisps and cookies and some condiments in the fridge.
We often visit Langholm and will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here twice now and love the location just outside langholm town center but easy to walk into,everything you need for your stay is provided cooking utensils pots pans towels ect
